Re: Wunderlich Ergo Comfort Seat - R1200RT LC

Off at a slight tangent, but have you tried Wunderlich's footrest lowering kit?  I've got a load of metalwork in my hip and femur so stuck these on my old K1300GT and they made a huge difference to all-day comfort without sitting me higher on the bike.  Thinking seriously about th...

Wunderlich Ergo Comfort Seat - R1200RT LC

Has anyone tried a Wunderlich Ergo Comfort Seat for their R1200RT LC. I gave a standard height seat but am considering a high seat to improve my leg/knee comfort on long days. Thanks

Re: 2009 R1200 RTP Radio box

There should be a key lock above the number plate immediately below the rear hump. The ignition key should open it

When you talk about bubbling, do you mean like that? http://i.imgur.com/YFc09h8.jpg https://i.imgur.com/esRcn06.jpg https://i.imgur.com/xyg68LV.jpg https://i.imgur.com/h6nyNiV.jpg http://i.imgur.com/IZ8GLRD.jpg Or worse? That's how my driveshaft and engine fans look. Sent from my iPad using Tapatal...

Re: How many RT LC owners actually have problems / issues?

The paint is bubbling on the engine fins of my 2016 RT (18 months old) and drive shaft. The bikes has 9000 miles on it and I'm very disappointed. My dealer believes BMW will replace the engine casing and rear shaft but I'm waiting to hear formal confirmation Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro I...

Re: New 2018 RT what would you like to see ??

A new full colour TFT connected dashboard like the one just announced on the 2018 GS/GSA would be nice, but I would like to keep an analogue speedo though.  https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170709/32158db548860e8a345666b001dde55b.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170709/e009b95b76728...

Re: New 2018 RT what would you like to see ??

But its not just BMW, Honda are having issues with their frames. My 26k Harley had paint fall off after a year. Triumph are having issues, it must be something to do with the paint they are now using. As stated earlier, they don't all rust, my 2014 RT is fine at the moment. Difference is, BMW do re...

Re: New 2018 RT what would you like to see ??

All the suggestions so far are great but for me the biggest thing I would like to see would be a bike that doesn't RUST ! Corrosion is the weakest part of BMW ownership if you ride all year round. We don't except it with our cars so why should we for our bikes. Couldn't agree more.  I've h...

Re: RT-LC vs GS-LC

Just sold my 2016 GSA TE and kept my 2016 RT LE which I had for 6 months before selling the GSA. The GSA is a great bike and very comfy with sergeant seats fitted but I couldn't resolve wind buffeting around 65mph +. The RT is a much better road bike and a bit more agile with far better wind protect...

R1200RT-P blood bike gear box problems

BMW and Kawasaki have been working on type approval for over a year now, but still haven't yet got approval. Section 19 changes have been ongoing also for nearly two years, it was supposed to be sorted in 2016, but got pushed again, so nothing on the horizon. Plus for groups to ride under Section 1...

Re: R1200RT-P blood bike gear box problems

There are no issues with the LC gearbox.  The changes for 2017 is more likely to be down to a cheaper manufacture.  As for anti judder, what judder. The 4 or is it 5 bikes we have identified world wide as having problems to me appears to be clutch related.  Nothing change...

Re: R1200RT-P blood bike gear box problems

You also mention that your charity has decided to go with the FJR. As I stated in earlier posts, the FJR is the weapon of choice for Blood Biking as its the only approved model by the Home Office, so all groups are being encouraged to swap to Yamaha. Our new bike is a FJR and we were encouraged to ...

Re: R1200RT-P blood bike gear box problems

Have the blood bikes got quick shifters ? A pet hate of mine on road bikes anyway and fail to add to the engineering longevity of any bike. You base your belief on what touring  bike that has the same as Gearshift  Pro. Gear shift pro is an option on the RT-Ps but we don't have th...
