I was in a BMW showroom 2weeks ago and noticed a spot of fluid on the floor by the front wheel of a brand new 1250 RT, felt under the L/H calliper and it was wet with brake fluid. And that’s before it has even seen tarmac.
Doesn’t look like anything has been resolved yet.

Re: Best bike magazine s
You don’t see it in the shops. Adventure Bike Rider, it’s bi-monthly full of touring articles many on road, and a very good website. I found the subscription for the printed magazine plus access to the digital library of past issues very good value.

Re: Underseat lock
Sorry i thought i was helping someone with a question. I was not asking for approval on where i store things on my bike, whether i choose to have a top box or indeed which model of motorcycle i ride.
I shall not be bothering again.

Re: Underseat lock
I have an Thatcham approved Abus disc lock with alarm (cost just under £100) that fits in the left hand fairing storage compartment, never tried it under the seat as I have my auto com under there but I would think it would go. I normally wouldn't buy a disc lock but the alarmed ones have a visual a...

Re: Travel Insurance with medial issues
Hi Sleuth and ds99 thanks for your help. Obviously one of my problems is finding a company that covers motorcycling as well as medical issues. I am considering a tour to either Spain or Germany/Italy at present. I have always taken my European medical card but it only covers medical care at a basic ...

Travel Insurance with medial issues
I was unfortunate to have had a heart attack in September 2016, I had to have stents but I am now ok but on medication. Does anyone have experience of obtaining travel insurance when taking a biking holiday in Europe with a similar condition?

Re: Bmw warranty
Just for interest how many of you have extended warranties on your cars that you use every day all year round and probably do about 10,000 miles a year in?

Re: RT. Rear Seat. Two up.
My Wife had the same problem I bought some of that none slip soft perforated rubber matting you can get in rolls to use on trays to stop plates etc slipping about. Cut it to the shape of the seat no more problems and only cost a pound.

You need a vignette to use any road in Austria. All you need to do is stop at the 1st petrol station when you enter Austria and you buy a sticker for your screen that covers you for the days you are there. There is a minimum number of days you pay for and you pay motorcycle rate. They are not expens...

Re: Low beam replacement -lc
Easy enough but only if it was! When mine went recently, I positioned myself as suggested. All went well until it came to the brake side clip, it took me about 20 mins fiddling with increasingly sore fingers before it released. While I had the bulb out I practiced both sides and they went in place 1...

Re: Air flow jacket
When we go to Europe in our Airflow jackets we take lightweight walking jackets the type that have hoods hidden in the collars and fold into small stuffer bags, in our case goretex. There is a better selection in outdoor shops and with discount prices there are some good bargains. We have ridden all...

Re: Newbie - How bad did I mess up? Reversed Battery
I think there may be a misunderstanding as gel batteries are lead acid as are AGM, the main difference being the construction of the plates in AGM and the medium the acid is kept in with gel. It is also worth noting for people who leave their batteries uncharged for over a month or longer, particula...

Re: BMW Insured Warranty
Yes the bike was new. I took ownership on the 29th March. It was then recalled and I was given a K1600GTL for 3 month's. Days before I got it back I received the letter I referred to telling me the shocks were at the dealer's and I would get £500 credit towards BMW accessories etc and my warranty wo...
