I have a friend about a thousand miles from home and she is having trouble with her kickstand cut off switch. Anyone have an issue with this in the past. Hers is a 2012 RT Low. Im calling the dealer in Boise Idaho in the morning to see if he can help or has parts.

Re: Service charges
I always change the oil, filter and final drive oil. I have the dealer do the rest. I enjoy doing what I can but I also understand that if it involves anything to do with the computer or brakes I let the dealer do it. I trust Eurosports of Asheville as they have given me no reason not to. They are a...

Re: should servo breaks be a deal breaker?
I never cared for the servo system on my RT. Was glad to be rid of the noise and the idea that if it failed I'd be in a heap of trouble. Id find one without the servo system.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol Bikes
The last couple days I have been in Raleigh in State Board meetings. The hotel always lets me park my bike just outside the lobby under the canopy. The State Fair is in town so there are a bunch of NCSHP personnel working the fair and staying at the hotel. The motor troopers figu...

Go to Jeff Dean's website. More information about RT's than you can imagine.

Re: fuel strip faulty
What year is your bike. In the US there is a 12 year extended warranty on some models. You should check on that. Fuel strips were a big pain.

I think they were like .75 cents a piece at the dealer. Why go anywhere else?

Re: Changing the rear tire
On my 2014 , unlike my 2012, the muffler does not swing out. It is removed by loosening the clamp under the heat shield that is held on with 3 screws. Once the shield is removed the muffler clamp is loosened and the muffler can be removed for easy access. Im not taking the heat shield off to take pi...

Changing the rear tire
I may be the only one who has noticed but Ive got an issue with my owners manual. When you read the part on changing the rear tire on a 2014 RT it says nothing about having to remove the muffler. Last night I changed out my front and rear tires after 10,400 miles on the PR4GT for a new set and found...

Ive never had an issue with my 2014. Mine heats up well and the passenger heat keeps Ann toasty and she is cold natured.

Re: Brake fault warning
Not taking one side or the other but when I had that damn noisy thing I would start the bike, wait till all the lights stopped flashing except the brake fail light and then just go. Never held the brake lever, just gave it a second or two to get through its gyrations. I dont reme...

Re: Oil Useage
She uses Castrol 20-50. I think she is at the end of this bike soon. Ive been trying to talk her into a new waterhead. Her only hold back is the height. She has a low version RT now and she has some concerns about getting her feet planted with the new bike. I think I have her about worn down and thi...
