Re: Luddites
Don't shoot the messenger ! Wikipedia says all of that, but then says " the term has come to mean one opposed to industrialisation, automation, computerisation or new technologies in general " If that's how the term is used, I think it's apt in this circumstance. Accepted :enjoy...

"Luddite", in context, was the opposition to technology etc that destroyed manual jobs at that point in history.

Re: Prospective '12 RT owner
One issue on the 10-13 is the iffy switchgear on the left side bar. Headlight main beam/flash switch, cruise etc. These are weak and can cause problems. Check thoroughly before buying as they're a lot of dosh to replace.

Re: advanced riding course
Re the retest IAM vs ROSPA.
I'm with IAM, at three years I asked an observer to accompany me on a ride and inform me if I was still ok and suggestions to remedy if not.
Got great feedback and it helped keep me refreshed. No need for retests if using this method. IMO.

Re: advanced riding course
I'd been riding around 25 years when, about 4 years ago, I decided to take a "Bikesafe" weekend with the local police. It was very good and you get detailed feedback on your riding and great advice on road positioning etc. Whilst there the local IAM were promoting there club so I decided t...

Hired a scooter in Crete years ago. The rural roads were awful.
Would often round a bend and half the mountain would be laid across the road.
I had tight underpants on otherwise my thighs would have been brownbe

Re: Liber-t (SANEF) Télépéage Scheme
Steve f. Depending upon how criminal you wish to be there's a way in which two riders can use the tolls with one liberte tag. I know someone who rode with a partner on another bike and they went through the auto booths side by side with one tag. In no way am I condoning that behaviour but thought I'...

Re: Windscreen stuck it up position
On the 2010 se the switch is able to be opened and cleaned up. I've done it, it's easy!
The screen does not lower when ignition is switched off. It has to be done manually before switching off.
