Re: OK - I admit it, I'm tempted...
I suspect we have in common that itch every year or so to change. The Caponord took me down to Pecos, Pyrenees and Andorra and was very enjoyble. It had class leading suspension, plenty of other rider aids and was an extremely comfortable machine. I got a bit tired of the roar from the engine when I...

Re: OK - I admit it, I'm tempted...
I am in same boat, but for different reasons, as you. The GS is too high for me. I had an Aprillia Caponord TP before the RT and in many ways it was a super ride, the suspension was fantastic. However the Vtwin is an acquired taste. Before that I had a Kawasaki Z1000SX - old model. A super bike but t...

I'm back.
Those of you with longish memories will recall my post accident post earlier in the year. Glad to say that I am somewhere near fitness again and have enjoyed my first couple of rides on the RT which has been sat, fully repaired, in my garage, for the last 6 months. I've been through some low times w...

Yep, agree with this method which stops the bike creeping and you got to put the sidestand down to get off anyway.
Kill switch is emergency use only.

Hi, They look like Oxford nets to me - but in any event similar are available for about £5 in many dealers (not BMW of course).
Using them in a pannier is a very good idea - they are pretty useless used for their intended purpose (a cargo net).

Re: Open face helmet ...?
I had an off in January - oil spill on road. Having seen the damage caused to my full face helmet at 50mph - now way would I ride with an open face.
Had I been wearing one I would be in need of a new jaw.

Re: Man Down
Thanks everybody for the good wishes.
Cleverbee - I suspect that this was a case of the fuel/oil being on the road, reported to Council but not cleaned up by the time I hit it.
The Fire Tender attended while I was lying in the road. But proving that may be harder.

Man Down
On 24 January last was out for a ride with my regular mate when we hit a load of fuel oil just as we were about to overtake a vehicle on a country road. I can't remember what followed but am informed that I spun out of control and hit the deck in a split second. After 90 mins laying in the road I wa...
