Re: OEM Top Box for 2015 RT
Agree with rtman there. Beside the generic balance issue due to a more top heavy bike I have noticed no ill effect due to the 49 er top case.

Re: Bridgestone T30 GT
I had the T30s on my GS one time and I liked them a lot as a pure road tyre. Let us know how they perform for you on the RT.

Re: OEM Top Box for 2015 RT
That is total crap. Somebody should advise BMW USA that one of their dealers is a rip off merchant. Hehe.... Maybe their mechanics really need 8 hours for that... In that case though, I would sure look for another place for the service.... Thinking of that, though - if you either get scam...

Re: OEM Top Box for 2015 RT
I wonder whether Frank aka fmantek on this forum can enlighten us re the Motorrad Bohling agreement with BMW re selling OEM equipment and for how much longer, assuming Benchmark's dealer is being factual.....?? Sadly, I can not. But there are several BMW dealers in Germany, selling online, some eve...

Re: S1000XR
Interesting comments Frank re the vibration issue. Mind you, I'd have thought that the Ducati MS v-twin engine would be a shaky old lump, or is engine damping such that it's been damped down to a minimum?? Curious, why would you think that about the Ducati v-twin? I have personally not ridden the l...

Re: S1000XR
As much as I like my RT's I'm seriously thinking of trying something a bit diferrent for a year or two. The question is- what do I get? Still fancy a GS but it's basically an RT in a pair of hiking boots. Fancy a Ducatli multistrada but reliability is a big concern- in that I would like t...

Re: MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT
I have 10,330 on this set of PR4 GTs, most of it loaded and two up. I could probably get another 1500 out of them but we plan on going to Bridge Day in West Virginia in about a month so Ill change them out in the next couple weeks. I couldn't be more pleased with these tires. Th...

Re: Tank Bag Advice
I have the SW-Motech Ion small tank bag with the ring, and the keyless works fine for me. Hmm. I looked on the sw motech site, and only found rings that stated -"do not work with keyless" Must have checked the wrong system then, my bad. But I stick with the sandstorm anyway, great bag. Fr...

Re: Tank Bag Advice
Me personally can not use a tank ring system, as they do not work with the keyless version I have, Beside, from my be days I have the worlds best tank bag, and it fits nicely on the rt as well - enduristan sandstorm 3e. Had that one in Maroccco, and, yes while most luggage fits in top case and panni...

Also, take note that you can barely fit an iPhone in there, this is not a tank bag replacement,,,,

Re: Vibes a plenty
That is more a RT vs GS issue. Even on the airhead there was a difference in vibration, and the 2015 GS vibrates a tad more imo than the Rt

Re: Sargent Seat - R1200RT LC
Hi Frank - Per image (2015 R1200RT LC), the rear/pillion seat has the lock cylinder and switch for pillion heated seat. Hope I'm making sense there. http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m601/ppalac1/IMG_5119_zps9ffbst5r.jpg Re: Sargent Seat - R1200RT LC Re: Sargent Seat - R1200RT LC yes, y...

Re: Sargent Seat - R1200RT LC
One consideration is to order another switch/lock assembly from BMW. This would offer an easy swap of the rear seat without having to re-install and potentially ruin the plastic screw holes. The lock cylinders can be key matched as well. I do not understand that... The rear set ...
