Used Oil Analysis
Has anyone had a used oil analysis done with their RT LC? I've been sending mine in and it appears the iron is slightly high. Just wondering what others are seeing. I've been changing the oil at 6,000 mile intervals and the iron is averaging 26 ppm with the universal averages showing 18. Any thought...

Re: crusing speed
Mine spends most of it's time right at 4,000 rpm. usually in 6th gear at about 72 mph. It just seems to be smooth and happy at 4k.

Re: Exhaust Flap Error
Thanks all, Yes, I could see the flap and it wouldn't move when I actuated the servo motor with the GS911. today I decided to take the servomotor off and see of there was something blocking it from moving or to find out if the cables were stuck. It was clear. However, when I put it all back togethe...

Exhaust Flap Error
I did a diagnostic check with the GS911 today and got an error that says "Exhaust flap servomotor, adjustment error". The bike is a 2015 R1200RT with 17,000 miles on it. It is still under warrantee so I'll have the dealer take a look. Am I ok to continue riding it until I can get it to the...

PDM60 Setting with Heated Gear
Question regarding what to set the PDM at for heated gear. I have a PDM60 installed on my 15 1200RT, and I have connected my Gerbing wiring harness to circuit 4 which is adjustable to 15 Amps. My question is regarding what to set the PDM60 to for different levels of heated clothing. In other words, ...

Re: Oil level creeping up???
Thanks,
I decided to drain a little oil out. I'm the type that over thinks everything, and I'll worry about it until it looks right. From what i've read, letting a little out should only help the shifting.

Oil level creeping up???
I'm not sure what to think of this. I just turned over 7,100 miles on my 2015 RT and recently changed the oil and filter (OEM) at 6,000. So...I have 1,100 miles on this change. I put in exactly 4 quarts and the level was right at the top mark after running it for a while and letting it sit. Now it s...

Re: Mettalic Matte Paint
I also have the grey. I've noticed scuff marks where my legs contact the sides of the tank. I seem to get some static cling with dust accumulating in that location while riding. My riding pants rub the dust into the finish like sand paper and scuff it up. I may paint mine this fall with the 2016 col...

Excess Electrical Capacity (2015 R 1200RT)
Does anybody know what the excess electrical capacity of the 2015 RT (fully loaded) is? The specs say total output is 540 watts, but I don't know how much the current model uses as it is set up now. I'm trying to determine how much room I have for heated clothing and auxillary lights.
Thanks,
