Re: Neutral

Fortunate not to have had the problem on a BMW twin, but the Blood Bike I'm using (Honda) has a neutral hidden so well, you'd need a mountain rescue team to find it. It only gets coaxed out with a light dab from second while still rolling!

Re: Front Paddock Stand

Agree with RTman about the basic clean...but when I come to the detail clean, every so often, having the front wheel raised is much easier!

All finished now! It's been a while in construction. Must have a ride down there! :)

Re: A shout for a new dealer on the block....Lloyd Motorcycles of Carlisle

Always good when you find s good dealership and you feel they are trying to give you their best. However 200 miles is a long way you will be reaching your service schedule in no time. Having said that I travelled from Saxmundam in Suffolk to Destination Triumph in Washington, Sussex for a service b...

A shout for a new dealer on the block....Lloyd Motorcycles of Carlisle

Went almost two hundred miles to the North-West as they had the right RT after a national search. Found them really helpful and they've just done a major service for me ..... and transformed the bike! Thanks to Steve the Motorrad Manager. They're also having a new building dedicated to BMW which sho...

RH headlight bulb replaced today!

....but boy, did I make heavy weather of it! For info....used an OTS H7 @ £6 from the local car spares....worked a treat but what a job replacing it! Thought initially I'd get away without removing the fairing panel. I was wrong on that score of course. Tried, centre stand, side stand, sitting on, k...

No. Quite the contrary. No, little choice in used air cooled bikes at all!

Re: Servicing - Dealer, Independent or DIY.

With my 2010MU rapidly approaching its 12k service, having put 3,500 miles on it since June, it's developed a couple of niggles. 1. The LCD display frequently flickers, and when it settles, leaves a line across the display. 2. The screen decided to deploy itself to the fully raised position in the r...

Re: Seat Options

As a life long two wheeler, including cycling too, I really do believe that a perfectly good OEM seat can be a good all day seat, provided you wear the right clothing next to your skin. You have two basic problems. Seams and body moisture. I find the answer is a pair of lightweight cycling undershor...

Re: Top Box Rack - 2012 Twin Cam RT

Never been a big fan of how the large top case looks and preferred to strap a large bag to the rack of my previous GS and my current TC. However, I've just fitted a 28l box and find it most useful and does not look at all hideous on the bike. Looks like it will also stay a permanent fixture too! Eve...

Re: 8 Bluetooth Headsets Tested

Updated the Nav 4 on July 3rd....version 2016.10 I think it was....and rechecked again and still using the same update version! The inaccuracy is not a big deal if you know you're staying A26....but it's the routing suggestions if you come off that road by plan or diversion. I've mailed Garmin to se...

Re: 8 Bluetooth Headsets Tested

Jeez! So many problems purchased at such a high price! My 2010twin cam came with a Nav 4. I have an iPhone 5. Just wanted connection with the sat nav, Bluetooth to my tunes on the phone and calls. Purchased a BT interphone with Fm radio....32quid from a brummie eBay store! Worked perfectly.....conne...

Re: Front Wheel removal Twin Cam

If my memory serves me right, that video suggests that with the front wheel out, the bike will tip nicely into the rear wheel......IT DOESNT! You will need a front end paddock stand or jack and chock the engine block! Once you've secured the bike into the back wheel, removal is pretty simple! Remove...
