couldnt stay away

Hi All. Well I had my great 90th edition but when the wife said, "im not coming on the Europe trip next year", I was straight in and traded the old girl for a brand new GSA. I can hear you all now, but I have to say, it is a fantastic machine but in my opinion, really made for one. So, I ...

Foot peg mounts

evening all,
Can anyone tell me if the foot mounting plates for both sets of pegs is the same on an 08 and a 13?
I am also trying to find the Bmw website that lists all parts, blown up drawings for sale.
Can’t remember the name
Any help appreciated

Re: Front brake piston service

I’ve just had my pads changed and calipers cleaned using bmw pads, be it Brembo made or not Pads were only 75% worn but off for a fortnight in the Alps I’ve never noticed excessive dust anywhere on my 2013 tc What I have noticed is how much sharper the brakes are for an overhaul and new pads. We nev...

Re: Back and shoulder pains

I used to be bad with this and put it down to tension. Blamed the wife on the back.
Since then,  i have sat more upright rather than slouching and leaning forward
Problem all but gone away

Re: Exhaust Flow Control Valve (Twin Cam 2013)

Thanks Casbar.
Leads me to another question.
Maybe it should be a separate thread but I’ll ask anyway
I only have my 2013 serviced  by BMW. Curious as to just how many do or don’t and go independent or do it themselves

Re: Exhaust Flow Control Valve (Twin Cam 2013)

My question to the experts.
What’s the impact of removing it and replacing with the straight through joint?

Re: Week 1 on my new R1200RT

I like to make sure I ride as IAM would suggest and indeed I ride like everyone on the road is trying to wipe me out but, living in Norfolk, we have an abundance of suicidal munkjaks and pheasants so, I too tend to take the middle line! I also ride many thousands of miles in Europe and being honest,...

Wash mitt on an elastic band
Wet it, Clean screen in a morning. Fasten to handles to dry out while travelling for next morning

Into Italy, again via the jaufenpass and timmelsjoch
Across the grossglockner
Back up to and through the black forest and then up through Luxembourg

Re: 2012 model vs the newer models?

At risk of upsetting the water boys, I think the twin cam is the best of the RT’s. More refined than the earlier models but not lost the character

Leaking front brake cylinder reservoir on 2013tc

anyone had problems with a slight weep from the cap? I can't see anything, it is dry but twice now it has leaked, dripped onto the handlebar and stripped the varnish from the paint First time, the cap and the handlebar was replaced under warranty but now this time, the cost is mine. If I had it done...

Wunderlich gopro mount for 2013 rt

anyone took the plunge and purchased one of these?
If so, how does it do with the vibration and how much clearance is there behind? Could you mount the Sony or a Tom Tom etc. rather than a GoPro
Cheers
