Re: no tire pressure reading
For some reason my rear tyre reading can take up to 7 or 8 miles before it displays. The front reading shows within a few 100 yards or so. This usually happens only on the 1st ride of the day. Any subsequent rides during the day it comes up more or less at the same time a...

Re: Riders seat comfort & footpegs - 2014 RT LC?
I too found the seat very uncomfortable. It was hard and too low at the front causing me to slip towards the tank. After much research I found a company 'Custom Motorcycle Seats' near Coventry and took my seats to them. They remodelled the rider's seat to my requirements and recovered it ...

Re: RT-LC vs GS-LC
It really depends on the type of riding you do. I own a '15 RT which I love for all the reasons stated above - road presence, weather protection, creature comforts, etc. Having said that I've just come back from a 16000 Km trip around southern Africa over 6 weeks on a '16 GS (not the GSA) and I real...

Crud Catcher
I recently received one of these as a gift: http://www.nippynormans.com/camping-travel/cymarc-crud-catcher-r1200rt-lc-2014-on
Whilst obviously grateful for the sentiment I'm not 100% sure what the practical benefit of it is!
Anyone use this (or similar),is it actually of any real use?

Re: Disable Speed Camera Warnings
Thanks for the input folks - much appreciated!
As mentioned above I think the trick is to not draw the attention of the local plod in the first place!

Disable Speed Camera Warnings
Off the the Alps in 2 weeks riding there via France - assuming the French have any petrol left by then! :shirty: I'm aware that one of the many quirks that the trip will offer is that I'll need to disable speed camera warnings on my Nav V. I've had a poke around the settings and I've found...

Re: Cover
Aerostich makes a light weight one that is water resistant. It compresses down into it's own bag the size of a soft ball which is nice for traveling. http://www.aerostich.com/a-to-b-utilities/storage-transport/bike-covers/aerostich-ultralight-bike-covers.html Nelson Rigg makes a good half...

Thanks for the thoughts above.
I'm definitely going to have a chat with the garage that i bought them from.

Sorry, should have mentioned that they are GTs - as were the PR4s on my older RT

Are wetheads heavier on tires than oil cooled?
My 2012 RT used to get between 9k and 11k out of a pair of PR4s. Fitted my first pair of PR4s to my 2015 RT at the same time as the 12k service (had Continentals on before that - didn't get on with them at all). This set of PR4s are down to the legal limit at both front and rear after only 4k! I'm a...

Re: Nav V
If you run your music off an SD card in the NAV V BT'ed to your helmet you can perform rudimentary track control from the wheel (next track/back 1 track/etc.). I think this only works if you don't have the audio option. Why on earth the RT doesn't have the full NAV V functionality available on the G...

Iberian Peninsula
I’ve got a germ of an idea to do a solo tour of the Iberian Peninsula this September. My initial thoughts are, starting from Santander to hug the coast as much as possible in an anti-clockwise direction. So, very loosely: [...
