That’s how I ride with cruise control, my right hand palm rests on the bar end. That way it’s resting near to the controls for quick reactions but can’t accidentally affect the cruise.

Re: Paint protection film
I know you said you wanted something pre-cut, but I used regular PPF and made a DIY template. Easy and an awful lot more reasonably priced than the precut stuff

Re: Top case, old or new model?
I’ve had both. The old one on a 2005 and a new one on a 2014 LC. Both have that nice pillion back rest my wife loves. The old one is soooooeasy to remove/add on and I like that it had a handle. The new one though, like you say has central locking, a high level brake light if you add one. It’s a grea...

Re: BMW advising exhaust valve sticking needing new headers at £1200+
You can't beat a nice little video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtcUZn_T6Oc David, I’ve now replicated your work and the video... it worked amazingly well. My exhaust flap is now moving freely and the servo close and opens it when the ignition comes on. I’ve also used the graphite power. The bi...

Re: BMW advising exhaust valve sticking needing new headers at £1200+
David, you’re a superstar! I too had been told by my dealer about my sticking valve on a 2014RT and wanted a fortune to replace it. I’m going to have a go this week!David. wrote: You can't beat a nice little video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtcUZn_T6Oc

Re: Fuel station air pumps
Always had to use one of those right angle adapters.
I then found the “forecourt cable conversion tool” at Nippy Norman’s

It’s even better!

Re: Dash cams
The k2 (above) seems good, but was a little expensive for me. I also felt I didn’t need a rear cam. After trying other solutions in the past I’ve now gone for: INNOVV C5, hard wired and automatically turns on/off with the bike. It’s fixed underneath the headlight as a bike dashcam on loop recording....

Re: rt 1200 BMW 2014 Upgrade recomendations & top case
I have a different view. Stock screen and seat are perfectly fine for me. I did buy a short sport screen I use in the summer. Don’t need bar risers and hate crash bars personally. I have fitted cylinder guards and a Denali sound bomb horn. Never changed the lights as I have the daytime running/angel...

Re: Looking at some changes
You’re right about the various factors of course. I have both a standard and a short summer screen for the warmer months. I also use ultimate ear plugs I’ve personally not found the wind noise to be any worse than other bikes (and of course one of the main reasons for a shorter screen is to have mor...

I fitted Brembo pads to the rear and planned on fitted them to the front too. The full two sets are the same price as one set of OEM

Re: Rear PowerSocket
The canbus will prevent any heated clothing running from the power sockets, you’ll need to run from battery (and may need a separate canbus manager)

Re: Main Dealer prices
I agree, I recently had mine serviced at the main dealer. They said my front pads were 85% worn and quoted me a similar price to change them over the next couple of months. I politely declined and will do them myself (as I did with the rear set last year) after a planned trip around Yorkshire moor a...

Re: Innovv C5 Helmet Camera
I have an INNOVV C5 and tried using it as a helmet cam for a while. Because it needs constant power I used either a power pack or put the DVR in my tank bag and fed the power from the 12v socket. It worked ok but having a cable basically attaching me to the bike proved to be a pain in the a*** to be...
