Just read where the new R1200RT has the 1st gear "clunk" fixed. Can anyone confirm?

Re: Retro Fit

I considered the same when the dealer forgot to order the audio system on my last K1600. I decided against it on price grounds, but have it on the new RT. The radio is great. I am a Radio 4 fan and speech is clear and intelligible at over the ton with plugs in. I use moulded plugs with a 22db inser...

Re: Good deal? Need ur help!

Tell him to throw in a rear top case and he has a deal.  The Ebony is really pretty, but scuffs easily (or so they say)

Re: RTLC is HOT!

FWIW I've not felt any excessive heat.  I come from Moto Guzzis, so maybe I am used to it, if it is there.  Nevertheless, it is all relative.  Don't want to frighten the horses you know.

Re: Dealer cost on top case?

I bought the large box for $1200 with my new ('15) RT.  Dealer told me it was close to his cost.  I like the ability to lock up both helmets inside when we stop and leave the bike unattended.  If I'm out and about by myself I just take it off.  Very simple on and ...

Re: New to forum, about to purchase R1200RT

I'm beginning to think that highway pegs are going to be on the short list before long.  I'm 6'3" and I really need to stretch my legs after a while.

Re: Agricultural clunk

"Agricultural" is too mean of a word for such a refined motorcycle.  "Harley-esque" is much nicer! :))

Re: '15 RT = no ticket

Here in the greater Oklahoma City metroplex almost all the local constabularies still ride Harleys (Norman OK ride RTs.)  The Highway Patrol have got the new RTs along with Laser.  They are deadly driving to work on I-35 in the morning while it is still dark. Invisible. They park a...

Re: New 1200RT and member

Welcome to the "club."  I too bought a new RT this year and could not be more pleased.  I am so glad I did not get the Harley.  My wife really likes the security of the rear trunk.  Even though I try to ride like a "bus driver" when she is on b...
