Re: Riding position advice
I've got just under 14,000 miles on my 16 RT.. I am 5'11", 31" inseam and 190 lbs. After break in I raised the seat to the high position. This only raises the front of the seat and I did it to prevent sliding into the tank when breaking. At around 2,500 miles I went for the Helibars risers...

Fork top seal failure
I,ve got 13,928 wonderful miles on my 16 RT. Noticed the left fork top seal weeping small amount of oil. Not enough to run down the fork leg, but enough to show wet around the seal and put a sheen on the upper fork slider.. Want to know if this is an anomaly or have other had the same issue at such ...

Re: tyre life
Currently the odometer reads 7280 miles on my 16 with the original PR4GTs. The rear has 6mm of good tread remaining while the front has 3mm. Getting ready to do a 5,000 mile round trip beginning Sept.05 and decided to replace the front before departing ( was having the water pump replaced, so it jus...

Re: Installation of Toll RFID tag
If you have a top box, rest assured that the signal WILL pass through the top. This also keeps the device hidden from all who might entertain the thought of relieving you of it. As to Florida DOT, the info about it having to be mounted to glass is on the instructions printed on the packagi...

Re: Quiet helmet recommendations?
If you actually intend to do some sort of comparison, just remember there a variety of noise factors that you will want to equalize as much as possible. Helmet vents should all be closed. Each manufacturer does vents differently. My Neotec is much quieter when the top vent is closed. Much hotter too...

Re: Installation of Toll RFID tag
Here in Florida we use "Sun Pass". Same concept, different name. It is available in two versions. The first is a 1.5"x 4" rectangular transponder that uses a pair of suction cups to attach to the windshield of an automobile. The second is a 1.5" x 3" RFID stic...

Weeping Water Pump
I have 7106 miles on my 16 RT. Was doing my weekly rag down and clean up when I noticed a light blue trail down the left side case emanating from the weep hole above and forward of the cylinder jug. Fluid level checked out just fine, and she never got any hotter than normal. Questioned my dealer, wh...

Re: My new seat
Can't speak to the Sargent seat. With 6845 miles on the odometer, I am riding the stock seat in the high position (helps reduce forward slide under deceleration) with a "Bead Rider" beaded cushion to prevent sweat pooling during our Florida summer days. http:...

Re: Handle Bar Risers
Hey Steve, Per the Helibars install instructions, you put the controls on the Helibars BEFORE they are mounted to the handlebar casting. The only routing issue is the right side, where the cables are secured to the frame. You must cut the tie wrap and install the provided replacement, securing the c...

Re: Questions about the 1200RT
Hi Ape, Since we are both the same age and both of us are hot weather riders, may I suggest a "Bead Rider" for your seat. https://www.beadrider.com/ . After yesterdays commute home in 93° heat and 100% humidity, the sweat in the seat of my pants was a call to action. My ...

Re: Handle Bar Risers
Installed the Helibars. What a difference a few inches makes. No more numb fingertips. The extra 2" in width has reduced the turning effort to little more than mere thought. The extra 1.75" of height puts them at the top of the stock mirrors, so for me @ 5'10" they now provide a bette...

Re: Hello all, new guy from New Hampshire, USA
Welcome.
When you bite the bullet, go for the top box. That will give you the backrest you are looking for. Thin grips can be taken care of by any slip on aftermarket grip cover. Mine are textured neoprene, cost about $10 and work like a charm.
Take care, stay safe. 8)
