Re: Headlight Protectors
Hello Blueboy. From whom did you order your headlight protectors? I tried a couple of websites, but had no luck getting one for my 2016 1200RT. Since I’m in Canada as well, a Canadian vendor is preferrable givien shipping, duty,...etc.

Re: Weather Protection R1200RT LC
Hey tda2806, When I looked up BMW Weather Protection for the RT, there were some 12 different parts in numerous denominations. Of course, the increased number of parts means an increase in the overall costs. Here is Bike Bandits list of part https://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/2016-bmw-r1200rt-weat...

Re: Werks Vs new AeroFlow
By chance, do you know the approximate prices of the Aeroflow versus the Werks shields? I am just a little North from you on Vancouver Island and I am having some difficulty finding a distributor and prices for either of these shields. Cheers!

Re: New 2017 gearbox clunk free.
I have been riding for 46+ years. I have owned 2 Yamahas, 3 Hondas, 1 Kawasaki, 1 Suzuki and now have an 2016 RT. I have never owned a bike that did not "clunk" into first. None of these bikes ever had clutch or tranmission problems. My friend has an massively loud "clunk" into f...

Re: Front disc bolt torque?
Thanks Dave for clarifying the discs tightness issue. After writing my question, I realized the floating/heat dispersion aspects. Notwithstanding my realization, I appreciate you taking the time to answer my query. Cheers Pat

Re: Front disc bolt torque?
Hey Gents,
I have just checked the front discs and they move ever so slightly. I checked the back disc and it does not move at all. Has anyone noticed the same slight movement?
Thanks. Cheers, Pat

How do you shine the Chrome Header Pipes?
Is there a product that removes the bluing and dulling of the chrome headers? I have tried Autosol chrome cream, Mother's Chrome Polish and several other products, which remove some spots but don't clean the bluing or shine the chrome. I have used header wrap on cruisers I have owned but the primary...

Warm up Engine for 2 to 5 minutes
When I purchased my 1200 RT, the sales manager told me that it was important to "warm up the engine for 2-5 minutes before driving." With fuel engine and computerized control of fuel and air, I believe that any warm up period exceeding 1 minute was not necessary. Idling the engine is not a...

Re: Scratches on the screen
Hello from Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. I got a tip from a long time rider regarding cleaning all bike parts including windscreens. I have used it for more than 5 years successfully. It is a furniture polish called Pledge. I am not sure of its availability across the pond but it's worth checking in...

Vancouver Island and/or BC BMW Dealers
Does anyone know if there is a BMW dealer on Vancouver Island other than Island BMW? Not much competition if there isn't! Is there a dealer on mainland BC in the Vancouver area that anyone might recommend? I am looking for a new 2015 or 2016 R1200 RT?
Thanks. Cheers.
Thanks. Cheers.
