Re: Is Mahle the same as OEM parts
Sounds like Alfred is doing his own oil & filter change, not a BMW dealer. Correct The dealer put shit oil and wrong filter on it. I am sick of paying for rubbish. Liqui Moly is top of the line oil, but also comes attached with a matching price tag. Over here in Australia getting 5W-40 oil that...

Re: Is Mahle the same as OEM parts
Well that means then that my dealer installed the wrong filter.
Another reason NOT to use them anymore.

Re: Is Mahle the same as OEM parts
David The two filters show the same part number "except" for the very last part which is a "-***" But as the Hexhead filter came in it's original BMW box, the box doesn't even show the last "-***" part. So as such, the numbers as per BMW original box packaging is the sa...

Re: Is Mahle the same as OEM parts
I had a spare BMW filter from my previous Hexhead and it's the same number. And it says BMW only, but the number is the same. I think Mahle uses the exact same number, but not sure. Munich Motorcycles over here in Australia does sell the Mahle filter for R1200RT-LC as service parts. Just read the nu...

Re: Is Mahle the same as OEM parts
The Oil Filter I just took off is a BMW oil Filter but also has got Mahle stamped on it.
this was an oil change + filter done by the dealer.

My son lives in Brisbane (North Lakes) and he rides his Bike around there. Plenty of mountain/twisties to get more then your fair share of good riding.

Re: Full face Helmet or Flip front
Maybe Alfred could weigh his nice new shiny one. I have just weighed my 6 on a set of digital scales. 1.62 which includes a full Autocom headset, a set of dumb French stickers and a few squashed bugs. Oiiiii I never claimed anything about weight, just that it was cheaper then the BMW at the time. :)

Re: Full face Helmet or Flip front
Not at the time when I looked, but the System 6 (or 7?) will be my next helmet, including the BMW Comms system for full compatibility with my bike.RTman10 wrote: Just the same as a BMW System 6 that just happens to be less expensive and I think a bit lighter.

Re: Full face Helmet or Flip front
My 2 cents worth I purchased The C3 helmet as I wanted Comms using the SRC system. The real value in the C3 helmet, if it's a proper fitting one, is not that you can flip it open, but rather that you can not remove it ones it's closed...even without the strap done up. You have to stretch the helmet ...

Re: water leak !
Hello. On my bike it's no blue coolant coming out off the little hole at the left side. After driving 530km afew days agoe, the side off the engine was covered with some black oily stuff. I didn't drive hard and it was cold weather. Is it motoroil leaking thru the waterpump? Take it back straight a...

Re: Panniers Falling off after a hitting a deep pothole.
I am assuming that you are talking about the Hexhead.
No, they do not just fall off.
Plenty of bad potholes here in Aussie land and I ride my bikes fairly hard up the mountain range....never lost one yet.
