Re: Still no locking system or gadget???

Loved it, T6Pilot! As simple as possible, but no simpler. I'm now tempted to try a v2.0 - drill 3/32th hole (we're metric over here in Oz, but we weren't when I went to school so I still convert everything back! :) ) and drop a ferrous 1/16th pin into the hole just short of flush with the cowling, a...

I like your thinking! I'll give that a try next piece of rough road!

Re: Agricultural clunk

BTW, they've obviously been working on the problem because the 'clunk' is far deeper, crisper and intimidating (for anyone beside you at the lights than the previous models. I wouldn't call it 'agricultural' AO much as 'tuetonic' in the Attila-the-Hun sense!

Re: Agricultural clunk

Hmm, sorta reminds me of the Haiku poem I read when researching this problem on my first (1999) RT: "Engage gear. Beneath the sound of breaking rocks. All is well."

Sell everything while the Aussie dollar is low, freight your bike Down Under and move to 'God's Country' (Queensland - 'beautiful one day, perfect the next') and you'll ride every day of the year. Crazy bike roads and a State 3 times the size of Texas to roam in.

Re: How often do you change & why?

I've had my own companies since 1975 and the company provides me with a 'vehicle'. Since 1999 that's been an RT. We lease them over 5 years some - damn! - every 5 years I have to accept a new one.

Re: Throttle sensitivity

Yup. This (2015) is RT #3 and the back roads (bike roads) in Oz can be rough and in some situations it's more comfortable to flick on cruise control than to try to keep your throttle hand dead steady over corugations.
