Re: Crash bars or head covers?

Both! Head covers to protect from rocks, crap, etc, thrown up from the road. Engine bars to provide additional protection in the event of a slow speed tip-over.

Re: High mileage concerns?

Bushbikie that's good to see no problems on a high milage bike. 120K miles that's going some. Gives me confidence that I will manage my 100K without issues. Thanks for posting. Hoping to make 300K kms at least! Mind you, those 2021 RT's look gorgeous in blue![emoji6] Sent from my SM-G965U using Tap...

Re: High mileage concerns?

I've put 193K kms (120K miles) on my 2016 RT and it feels that there's still lots more to go! Very happy with this bike. Replaced front fork seals twice. That's about all that's been an issue for me, and really, they are consumable items anyway. I get the brake systems flushed every year, because of...

Re: Might return to BM ownership

The front seat (for many people) is an instrument of torture and often demands an aftermarket seat to make it acceptable. Strongly disagree! The standard front seat is an essential safety device, specifically designed by the BMW Director of Safety and Ergonomics, a gentleman by the name of Marquis ...

Re: Question :- can anyone please tell me how to switch off my headlights ?

Perhaps the procedure for replacing the high beam bulb has something to do with it. The speaker cover & speaker unit need to be removed to access the bulb. And you have to be a contortionist with eyes at the end of your fingers to replace the low beam bulb, unless you feel like removing/replaci...

Re: Question :- can anyone please tell me how to switch off my headlights ?

[size=0px]As a side issue, I discovered that if the 2014 - 2018 RTs are specified without DRLs they still come with one dip and two main.  If / when the dipped beam bulb blows, the bike automatically switches on one main beam. I have still to confirm that this applies to bikes like mine wh...

Mine's a 2016 wethead and I run DRL and the auto-sense headlights. My post above refers to this bike.

Re: Post-2014 lights

I would have preferred the wethead have two low/dip beams and one high beam. As it is, if the low beam dies then, yes, one of the main beams turn on, albeit at a reduced output. However, it is still a main beam, and still angled higher, and therefore shines into oncoming drivers/riders eyes. And gue...

Paint two targets with crosshairs on the back of your jacket, just a bit below your shoulder blades, with the advice to: "Place boobs here!"

Re: New 2009 model owner with top box question

Just thinking outside the square, you only want a topbox for a backrest? Have you considered just looking for a dedicated backrest for your model bike? I have no idea if they exist or not, but ya never know!

Re: FM/XM Radio

If you want to play music from memory stick through the USB port, all files must be mp3 without directories / folders. Don't know what bike is referred to above, but my '16 RT audio system can recognise my music USB stick which is sorted into folders by Artist and then by Albums. Mode button on the...
