Re: Keis Heated Kit with 3rd Party Controller

@ Casbar Everyone one is allowed an opinion of what they think, even if its right or wrong. Making a comment about someones sex, colour, hight, weight ect ect ect online or face to face is not cool in any form. I'm not going to fall out with you over this, so lets just carry on enjoying the forum. ...

Re: Keis Heated Kit with 3rd Party Controller

@Casbar there really is no need for personal insults! Really, there was a smiley, it wasn't a personal insult, I've never met the bloke, I have no idea of his BMI he might just be a large bloke, it was a joke! The thread was banging on about bikers not being real bikers because they use heated gear...

Re: Keis Heated Kit with 3rd Party Controller

Yep, more money that sence. bikers are getting soft as its now a hobby and not a way of life anymore. "A way of Life" - lol. Are you still a 1% then, since it's obviously a way of life for you. Never been my thing, wouldn't have been allowed to join an MC, would have got sacked :) Not eve...

Re: Keis Heated Kit with 3rd Party Controller

You are wearing the wrong winter gear if you need a heated layer. As i have said, i'm on blood thinners and i do feel the cold more since i've been on them. I was told about the RST Parragon 6 jacket and trousers and how good they are at keeping the body warm. I ended up buying 2 jackets, a 2XL &am...

Re: Keis Heated Kit with 3rd Party Controller

If you have an hex ezcan you can control them through that along with the heated grips You can have different levels of heat depending on the setting on the heated grips Personally I think that's a better way to go rather than faffing with controllers Just plug in and set your heated grips to on an...

Re: Thinking of getting a 2nd bike

The 1250 will be a lot different to your current bike. The GS is also lighter than the RT. Looking at the reviews, I might go for the 1300 rather than the 1250, but that will be £££££. Also looking on UKGSER insurance will be a lot more as well on the 1300.

Re: Road 5s

I have Road 5s GT at the moment, but my tyres only last around 6k before I change them. I would always use the GT rather than Road 5s. Had an email from Michelin explaining why heavy bikes should use the GT spec and not standard, due to weight of bike and the GTs have a stiffer side wall. But lots o...

Re: Wife was Punched

My wife retired last year after 35 years frontline NHS including Emergency Medicine. Over the years she has been assaulted many times at work. Nearly every case was due to alcohol or mental illness. Every night shift A&E always had Police in attendance. Sorry to hear about your wife assault, the...

Re: Stator on 1200/1250 😱

The issue with the stators wasn't recognised until early 2015, that is why quite a lot of 2015 bikes will also have the original stators. It doesn't seem to be a mileage thing, the bike we had done was a RTp and the issue started around the 40k mark. My own bike which was a 2014 was traded at 40k in...

Yep, 2014 and early 2015. We had a stator replaced on a 2014 RT, £2400 at mates rates 4 years ago.

Just had a quote from Bikesure, Aviva underwriting, 2019 RT, Legal, comp, no claims protection - £129, £30 less than last year. Cornmarket renewal £199, before negotiation. So surprised.

Re: Exhaust flaps

The flap is there for "noise" emissions, it has nothing whatsoever to do with engine emissions as people perceive it. Some will also tell you it provides some back pressure, this is also a moot point as the flap is after the cat and doesn't impact anything to do with fueling.
