Hi David,
Good point, but I use that to connect battery charger and run a tyre inflator, so don't want to disconnect it. Hence the enquiry about an adapter...

Re: Power socket adapter
Hi bighopper,
"I already use this socket to provide power for my phone", so yes, I have verified that it has power.
I was trying to avoid having to run a separate supply from the battery, but if no-one knows of an adapter then that"s what I'll have to do.

Re: Power socket adapter
Thanks PeteM, but neither is what I'm looking for.
I need an adapter to take two plugs from the single power socket as per the photo. It's not a "cigarette lighter" type socket, nor do i want USB power outlets.

Power socket adapter
Does anyone know if you can get a double adapter, (i.e. fit 2 plugs into 1 socket), for the auxiliary socket at the top of the left fork? (See Bobf's post https://www.1200rt.com/viewtopic.php?t=3 for photo). I already use the socket to provide power for my phone, which I use as a satnav, and want to...

Re: Insurance
It's getting ludicrous. Trying to get quotes for my son, who is sitting his CBT tomorrow, on a YBR125. Even for just third party it's almost £700. For fully comp they want around £4k - even for a bike worth £1,500. It's not just the cost of the bike that you are insuring, but the cost of the damage...

Re: Fitting headlamp bulbs
First time I'd stripped it down, so took my time to get a good look at how everything fits together.
Still, a bl**dy daft design if you can't get to the bulbs to replace them easily. How do BMW expect you to do it at the roadside unless you've got hands the size of a toddler's?

Fitting headlamp bulbs
After a 2 day delay by Royal Mail, my Osram Night Breaker bulbs arrived this morning. Full of optimism, I ventured forth into the garage with a cheery, "I'll only be 10 minutes, love". Two hours later, having removed the screen and every panel on the front of the bike, the bulbs ...

Re: Best replacement headlight bulbs?
Thanks for the info guys.
I've ordered a pair of the Osram Night Breaker 110s. Should arrive tomorrow, so a night ride to try them out is on the cards!

Best replacement headlight bulbs?
Hi, One of my H7 dipped headlight bulbs has failed, so I'm looking to replace both as a matched pair. Any recommendations as to the best make / model bulb to use? I like the idea of some "50% brighter" type bulbs, as I ride a lot on rural roads with no street lighting and little ...

Thanks for the replies.
I'll get the dealer to sort it next time I head to Cardiff. Thanks for the offer Reaper 999, but Worthing is a little too far from Carmarthenshire for a quick trip...
Might have to look at investing in a GS-911 when I've saved up the pennies!

TPMS query
Hi,
Quick question... is it possible to change the tyre pressure display units from bar to psi?
I've had a look at the rider's manual, but couldn't find anything.
Thanks

Re: Left hand switchgear - replacement cost?
Update; Apparently, BMW's free replacement scheme for switch assemblies came to an end at the end of 2015 and any subsequent cases have to be decided on merit by BMW. Riders of Cardiff applied on my behalf and secured a 50% contribution from BMW to the parts cost of £326, so I will be paying £163 fo...

Re: Left hand switchgear - replacement cost?
I bought the bike last year from an independent dealer with a warranty, although that has now expired. It has a full BMW service history with no record of any previous switchgear problems or replacements. Is there likely to be any goodwill contribution to the cost from BMW / BMW dealer, or am I goin...
