Thanks for the replies. Appears that riding without the panniers is the cause and yes the nearside mirror is particularly bad.

I bought a 3M kit for my new RT last month. When it arrived I found it didn't have protection for the sides where my legs were rubbing the paint. My paint was being marked and I ended up buying 3M tape from Dingbro (parts supplier) and making up panels myself. If you are worried ...

Mirrors issue
Has anyone come across an issue where the mirrors on the new RT LC are having dirt thrown up onto them in poor weather. If so is there any solution.
Ive only owned the bike for about 6 weeks and compared with the Air cooled Rt I had, the mirrors are terrible in poor weather.
