Re: If you have a "blow dryer" which do you have would you recommend it?

Leaf blower is easy and dual purpose as already mentioned.  Or as I saw on another forum years ago, the best excuse ever from a motorcyclist stopped for speeding - "I was drying the bike officer".  haha

Re: New 2017 gearbox clunk free.

I've been riding RTs since 2000.  I"m afraid, things have improved ... a bit, but BMW gearboxes are leagues behind the Japanese.  Trust me, I've owned both and the clunkiness of BMW gearboxes is something you just have to get used to.  It seems to be an engineering pr...

Likewise - SW Motech easy and lots of size options to choose from.  Keyless doesn't make any difference.

Re: What other bikes do you own?

Yes, it is heavy, doesn't like hairpins, but goes like ... a ROCKET haha.  It is awesome to ride - really.  That said, production has now finished.  The latest Euro emissions regulations have put the last nail in the coffin.  There are rumours of another Rocket on...

Re: New bike, new to boxer - vibes through handlebars

My previous two tourers (well, sports tourers) were Yamaha FJRs.  Going back to an RT after the silky smooth, bulletproof 4 cylinder of the Yammy took some getting used to.  I fitted grip puppies and it helped quite a lot.  As well as getting the bars to a decent diameter ...

Triumph Rocket - from the sublime to the ridiculous!  Here's a pic of it on tour in Belgium earlier in the year.

I only cut the one on the RHS to make sure it didn't stop the mechanism working properly.

Just think of all the places you could have gone and things you could have seen with the time you've been laying on your back buffing away!  The only thing I buff away at is my saxophone! haha

Re: My 1st ride home...!

This is the 3rd RT I've owned, and ALL of them have had a clunky gearbox.  And since the late 1990's the gearbox has always been a 'mark down' item in surveys such as the Ride Power annual review.  That said, the current RT gearbox is leagues ahead of the RT I had at the turn of th...

Re: Looking to pick up 17 R1200rt

Still using an iPhone6 with TomTom installed for my satnav.  Mounted on a Ram ball bolted to the satnav blanking plate haha.  Works a treat and of course, for £1.45 a month I get all the traffic delays etc immediately on the TomTom maps so you're diverted etc.  Its not as ...
