Re: Crash protection
They also provide a closer mounting point for highway pegs.richardbd wrote:
To be fair, compared to some of the scaffolding you can get, these are quite neat.
Still not tempted though. I'll stick with the BMW head protectors though...

Have a Roadtec 01 HWM on rear of 14 RT. Like it a lot. Too soon to know longevity.

Re: LOW Seat Choices w/Comfort
Actually, I waited because they did not yet have a low seat. I was on the wait list for its release so I may have the first one, certainly one of the first Sargent low seats for RTLC.

Re: LOW Seat Choices w/Comfort
No, I went straight to Sargent after riding the stock seat for a few months. Call them, I think they'll give you 30 days to return. They are well designed, narrower up front so you can get your feet down and there's a channel down the center to relieve stress on the tailbone or some such thing. Sent...

I'm 5'5" and have had Sargent low seats on my 08 GS, 07 SV 650, and 14 RT. Like them all.

Re: Confession...
Not sure I've ever heard the braking described as anything but great. I rode Harleys for 20 years and I like them, but braking doesn't compare to the RTW.

Re: Which Engine Bars?
I went with ztecnik after trying ilium. Ztecnik permits install of highway pegs closer to the rider--critical for those of use who are not tall.

I've ridden more than 10000 miles on my 14 r1200rtlc with Sargent low seat. Love it. Had one on my 08 GS too. I'm 5'5".

Sargent makes a good seat including a low option for most BMWs.
