Re: New 2025 BMW R1300RT Spied: 7 Things To Know!

panniers look smaller, fairing looks way less effective ..... and the 1300 engine is proving unreliable ... I'll keep my K52 for now :D

Lobster Lunch

Every year I visit the Lobster Pot in church bay Anglesey

Usually in the spring but this year's been decidedly cool.

Gorgeous weather recently, so decided to treat myself and get a spin out on the BoxerCup for a change

Starting in 1st

Can someone do a sanity check for me as I'm sure my R12RT LC used to start in first with the clutch pulled in, it's now only starting if I put it into neutral.

I have several bikes, plus I work with bikes so I'm not sure if I'm misremembering :D

Re: Hello, traded my GS for RT

Seconded on the Pilot Road, make sure they're the Pilot Road GT's though for the additional weight of the RT.

I've previously been on many Pilot Road 5 GT's and now on Pilot Road 6 GT's They're a fantastic tyre, like most tyres I find that when they wear the RT becomes heavier feeling and ponderous.

Re: Touring tankbag

I use a combination of a bag that fits between the screen and dashboard for documents etc https://www.nippynormans.com/wunderlich/r1200rt-lc-2014-on/wunderlich-cockpit-bag-r1200rt-lc-r1250rt-up-to-2020 and a small SW Motech micro bag (I like that it "hovers" above the paint on it's mount) ...

Re: BMW com U1 pairing help needed

My BMW Fit for All (which is a rebadged Sena 10R) works fine if I pair the GPS as a phone, then pair the real phone to the GPS for calls etc.

That way the GPS acts as a hub for calls and nav functions

I've attached the BMW guide, it says K1600GT but the process is the same

Re: Loving the mpg

From my place to our regular first hotel stop in Scotland is 227 miles, I fill with E5 on longer trips and regularly get to the hotel with 50 miles remaining before I hit reserve. This gives me a nice buffer to find petrol the next day at the mornings coffee stop. On the motorway nowadays I sit dead...

Re: Hello from Cambridge

Hi all, I've been tooling around on an old R80 and a ZZR1100 for some years and recently acquired a 2021 1250RT. I've done about 3500 miles so far, been to France on it with the missus for the Normandy DDay 80th and love it to bits. Except the seat. It's a plank! Hi, and welcome :) It's such a subj...

Re: Rear panniers...Are they really rubbish??

So, I've done 7 or 8 tours over the past few years, UK and Europe, and I've always been disappointed with the capacity of the rear panniers. Beacause of the way they open, you really need a set of pannier bags, otherwise stuff falls out all over the place when you open the lids. The pannier bags se...

R80RS

Just re MoT'd the old R80RS my uncle left me when he died. She's only done 27000 miles so barely run in !

This pic was taken in the exact spot I stopped in 50 years ago on my first moped at 16 years old :)

Re: Shift Lever Enhancement

I have a brand new 2024 RT and love it so far. I had surgery on my left big toe, which was fused last fall and upshifts have been a challenge and exhibit some pain. I was looking for ideas to maybe add some material over the stock rubber shift lever to soften the effort of up-shifting and relieving...

Re: Centre stand security

One of the z1000 touring model used to have standard fitment centre stand lock in the 90s. A new bike/scooter has one fitted, recently read but cant remember model. Always thought a good idea. Z1100 A1 I think you're refering to :D you can just see the keyhole for the ignition key on the footrest p...
