No main beam 2011 RT SE
Hi Each, R1200RT SE 2011. My main beam (the centre bulb) is not working but there's no bulb warning light coming up. Side and dipped working fine. Quick check at the connector shows no volts and I'm assuming one of the pins should read 12v. Shops now closed so can't buy an another bulb to confirm / ...

Re: Seat movement
Thanks for the post guys - I thought it was just me who had a wobbly seat after tinkering. I'll persevere too . . . .

Re: Beeping noise when ignition switched on
I would give your local dealer a ring. Don't think they are as expensive as you think. You're right RTman, not £500 but still coming in at £215+VAT, so I'll stick with my ebay option. According to BMW Belfast, who I just spoke to, he's only sold 1 in the past 12 months b...

Re: Beeping noise when ignition switched on
Forgot to say, when I got the old flap mechanism off it was completely seized and lots of lubing has freed it up a bit but not enough to get it to operate via the servo which works when not attached to the flap, hence replacement part.

Re: Beeping noise when ignition switched on
but think there is a replacement bit of pipe to replace the section and remove the flap I've heard of this but I'm a bit dubious. Clearly BMW didn't put a flap and servo motor in for no good reason. I believe that the operation of the flap has an effect on low to mid range engine...

Re: Beeping noise when ignition switched on
Be your exhaust flap seizing up Hi Guys, I'm returning to an old post of mine and I think Wierpig is right. The beeping noise which now happens nearly every time I switch on the ignition appears to be coming from The exhaust control valve servo motor and on inspection the flap see...

Re: Priority a droit whilst motorcycling in France
Thanks Guys,
Your replies are in line with what I suspected - its less of a problem than it used to be but its worth being cautious in rural areas especially villages.
Thanks for all your input and I'll let you know how I get on.
Cheers,
Andy

Priority a droit whilst motorcycling in France
Hi each, I've planned a trip from Northern Ireland to southern Spain via France and I'm interested in riders experience of the priority from the right phenomenon practised in France. Now, I understand how it works and the different road signs but what's it like to experience on a bike? It sounds dre...

Re: Battery condition / engine performance relationship?
Hi Folks,
Due to unforeseen circumstances I haven't yet bought the battery but it will be an after market one. Thanks Dayglo for the link , I shall study it and let you know what I find but it may be a while.
Cheers each,
Andy

Battery condition / engine performance relationship?
Hi, Starting my RT is a bit hit and miss if its been standing because the battery is not good. It has been getting worse over the past couple of months and on Sunday it didn't have enough in it to start the bike although I had only charged it the previous morning. After charging again on Sunday it s...

Re: Beeping noise when ignition switched on
However I think it has to do with the start-up checks I wonder why it doesn't do it every time then? Or, if its checking something and beeping at what its found is it a warning beep? If so, why isn't it in the handbook, unless I've missed something. Interesting theory, thanks! Andy
