My tc doesn't either

Re: IMPROVED HORN

I'm still getting familiar with BMW, but if you remove one wire from the horn and operate the button you might be able to hear a relay. If you can, it might have contacts rated high enough for the choice of horn. Certainly though, any horn is probably invisible to the canbus (it'll only see the coi...

Re: Slipping out of gear

I'm an idiot. Of course it is. The fact that it has a single plate clutch and proper Bell housing should've reminded me I'm no longer riding a Japanese.
Thanks for your replies guys.

I'm still embarrassed :-[

Re: Top Box Seals Itself Shut

Air inside contracts causing a vacuum? If you do resort to drilling a hole, a small one should suffice <2mm and bottom of 'box nearest to pillion Seat?
Mine's the same top box, bought new in Feb for my 2013 twin cam. Not experienced the issue yet - but then, it's not been exactly warm since then.

Re: Slipping out of gear

Oil is whatever the BMW dealer put in it. He added a bit more when they did the cam chain adjuster and I've checked the level it's not too high :-\.
Adjusted the gear lever a smidgen to rule out lazy foot syndrome. Been another 40 miles today and it's not happened again.

Re: Optimal 4

Sounds good to me. Have same charger. The two greens show unit on and in maintenance mode. The orange 0.2 amp is current charge setting. This varies from 0.2 to 0.8 amps. When in maintenance mode it goes through various cycles to keep battery in tip top condition without any degradation. If you can...

Slipping out of gear

My 1200RT Twin cam slipped out of 4th gear twice last night. Might have been a lazy foot on my part but I never had a single miss with the 1150. Engaged 4th, power back on - jumped into 3rd - anyone else had this? Bike is 3 years old and only covered 10k miles. I've done about 500 miles since I got ...

Re: Oil leak in filter area

Hi Kerdoman. I know you've had it attended to now, but my 2013 RT had an oil leak from around the filter area. Went back under warranty and turned out to be from the cam chain adjuster (R/H cylinder). Apparently gravity and airflow make it collect at the lowest point - the filter. They kne...
