Re: Top Box Seals Itself Shut

Not to be too technical but you should check if the air is going in or out. If out, the problem is that the air inside is expanding under the heat and the seal is your problem. A hole won't help and may hurt as internal pressure helps you open the box. If the air is goin in, then the box is expandin...

Re: ABS Pro on 17 models

My only theory on why no ABS Pro on the RT yet, is that they sell more GSs thank RTs and the K series always has all the bells and whistles. I agree with richardb, who ever told you ABS Pro was on the 16 was blowing smoke. BUT in the end, no one seems to know if the 17RT will have it. I guess they a...

ABS Pro on 17 models

Has anyone heard/read if the 17 RT will have ABS Pro (lean angel sensitive). It is already available on the GS Adventure. I am holding off buying a RT LC for the new ABS. If not coming on the 17, I may take advantage of discounts on the 16 end of year bikes

Re: What have you got planned for 2016?

Just spent two weeks in SantaFe New Mexico. Did wonderfull day trips to Taos , Sandia, and north to ghost ranch where Georgia Okeefe painted. Amazing area. Recommend you buy the Butler map of New Mexico. It had all the best rides, even those the locals recomended.

Re: Helmets with built in...

I have a 11RT. Bluetooth has never worked properly with a Schuberth SRC audio. You can hardwire the rear speakers to connect to your helmet. There is a rear speaker plug on my bike near the front fork. Need to buy a matching connector to do the hard wire. You then set the audio to rear speaker only ...

Re: Helmet cam

You may want to think long and hard about whether attaching anything to the outside of a helmet is a good idea. In a crash it will catch and create twisting which may create more damage than the actual impact. It makes sense, your brain is encased in fluid in a hard box. Twist it fast and your brai...

Re: Gas smell

That was my first thought, but my bike was produced late in the year and was not the subject of the recall (they must have fixed the problem in manufacturing later in the production year), also the dealer looked at it and determined that was not the source. Thanks for the suggestion.

Gas smell

when I return from a ride the bike smells of gasoline. It is noticeable near the front fork. 2011 RT is not the subject of the recall and my BMW dealer can't find a problem. No gas leak on the ground, but a distinctive smell that did not used to be there. Anyone have this problem, and maybe a soluti...
