Re: Parcel of trouble?

The parcel of trouble is now someone elses puzzle to solve. Once I'd decided not to spend any more money on it there was only one other option really. I've traded it in for another bike (not a beemer - no nay never no more). The bike has gone and so am I.
Thanks for all your suggestions.

Re: Parcel of trouble?

It would be interesting to see what BMW diagnostics show but that would cost me and I'm not prepared to throw any more money at this bike. Had a really good ride out through the dales the other day too. Bike handles really well for such a big 'un but when I stopped to fuel up I got the same symptoms...

Re: Parcel of trouble?

@RTman10 Bike is cutting out as it was before the service. Low oil pressure warning light coming on and brake failure light coming on, which wasn't happening before service. It hasn't jumped out of gear since being serviced. The warning lights and mebbe the cutting out seem to be symptoms of chip/se...

Re: Parcel of trouble?

Thought I'd update this thread in light of what's happened since last post. Wheel flange replaced and the whole fuel pump replaced by Cooper BMW. Serviced by Mick Kendrick inc change of transmission oil. He reports that whoever had done last service had probably just wiped the bike down with an oily...

Re: Parcel of trouble?

Bike was booked into Cooper BMW next Tuesday for wheel flange recall before these problems came to light. They mentioned something about a fuel pump recall too. Probably won't want to be paying their hourly rate for fixes though. A mate has also texted me about Mike Kendrick, says he's the best beem...

Re: Parcel of trouble?

@DaygloDavid Bike was serviced 19/06/2015 by a Honda outfit in Hull.

Got any recommendations for someone up here to have a look (I'm topside of Durham)?

Parcel of trouble?

Following on from this post https://1200rt.com/viewtopic.php?t=7 I've been getting some miles in on the bike but I'm getting increasingly concerned about it. Monday, jumped on it after work but couldn't get it in gear. Eventually managed to get it into 2nd to get away. Went to meet a mate for a ride...

Re: Touring Boots

Have any of you Altberg wearers had to adjust the gear lever height? Says on their site that the toe box is deeper then most bike boots and gear lever adjustment may be necessary.

Re: Eyup

Brought the bike home today, about 130 miles so got a decent feel for it. @RTman10, see what you mean about the brakes, keen eh? Deliberately rode through Northallerton and Darlo to see what it's like in town and got caught out by the brakes a couple of times, managing to come to an abrupt stop a co...

Eyup

Just dropping in to say hello. My old man, at the age of 82 decided to hang up his boots and gave me his '06 R1200RT. That is until he saw my 650 Vstrom. It was love at first sight so now he's getting a loan of the strom while I bring the RT home. Not sure how I'm going to filter through traffic wit...
