Re: new 2017 R1200RT Battery charging
My bike came from the dealer with a battery tender cable already attached to the battery and nicely zip-tied to the frame. They do this for all new bikes as they are installing the battery. Picked up a decent battery tender at Costco, and it works beautifully. No reason, IMHO, to buy an expensive B...

Re: Gopro/other suction mounts
Wow, that was an awesome GoPro video...watched it from start to finish! Utah is one of the most awe-inspiring places I've ever ridden. I recognized a spot at 6 min 44 sec. of your video. I took a picture there a couple of years ago. Thanks to everyone for the GoPro mounting tips/ideas. thanks! Glad...

Re: Highway pegs..
Hi there, I purchased these cheap ones from ebay and they work great. Quality is fantastic as well. Just did a 5600 km trip and they were perfect. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Universal-Black-Clamp-On-Highway-Frame-Engine-Guard-Foot-Pegs-Harley-Safety-Bar/401265932688?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_tr...

Re: Motorcyle trip from Alberta, Canada to South Utah
Thanks for the info regarding the software. I have been a little worried about the traffic, and whether the Bison might think my RT is a rival and charge me! The park may be especially busy during the eclipse, but I'm planning to stay around that cabin that morning. haha...yeah good plan for sure. ...

Re: Motorcyle trip from Alberta, Canada to South Utah
Great video, agreed! I'm curious what kind of software you used to mix the video and stills, and were you using a GoPro camera? I'm departing Portland, OR. this Friday for a trip to Yellowstone national park. Would love to create a similar video myself when I get back. thanks Tim! The software I us...

You've really got me pumped for my ride in a couple weeks from Michigan to Wyoming, Banff, Montana, etc. Thanks for sharing. thanks! That sounds like a great ride you have planned as well! I liv...

Re: Motorcyle trip from Alberta, Canada to South Utah
thx for the feedback and I am really glad you enjoyed it!
In total I think the trip was approximately 3500 miles. It took 9 days.
When travelling through Utah we did not put on many miles as there were so many place to see.
Enjoy the rest of your summer and safe riding!
Cheers.

Motorcyle trip from Alberta, Canada to South Utah
Hi all I took an amazing 9 day trip from home in Alberta down to South Utah to see the wonderful National Parks they have there. So many amazing roads and specatuclar scenery. It was my first long ride on my 2015 RT...wow, what a machine! :) Here is the link to my video of the trip. https://www.yout...

Re: Hi from Canada. Net New 17 R1200RT
Welcome fellow Canadian! That is quite the surprise from the wife. I imagine your jaw hit the ground, I know mine would. I haven't seen the white RT in person yet but I imagine it is sweet. I have a white Triumph Bonneville as well that looks amazing, just not a lot of white bikes out there. Enjoy t...

Re: Rear Racks the same? 2009-2013 vs. 2014-2017?
The rear racks are different so the fitting plates are different too. Thanks, appreciate the info. Looking at more pictures the back part of the racks are different so that would explain the different mounts. I do personally think the Shad Sh50 looks right at home on the RT. With a backre...

Re: Which bluetooth?
I would appreciate forum members' views on which Bluetooth system to buy. I want one that pairs with my phone and my Garmin 660 sat nav. I do not need pillion or group contact. I am looking for reliability of pairing and simplicity of use, as well an ability to transfer the unit to any future helme...

Re: Rear Racks the same? 2009-2013 vs. 2014-2017?
Why anybody would spend £15,000+ on a bike and then think it's smart to save £200 by putting a crappy piece of sub-standard plastic on the back is genuinely beyond me. It is undeniable that a Shad box is cheaper than a BMW one. It is also undeniable that it is inferior. Well you sure like...

Re: Rear Racks the same? 2009-2013 vs. 2014-2017?
Why? The quality of those things is awful! :-\ that interesting, why would it be awful compared to any other case? Because it does not have a BMW logo on it? I have read dozens of reviews from many online retailers and people have stated the quality is excellent. Shad also makes 'original-equipment...
