Re: A2DP Bluetooth Connection to Sena Helmet - Audio Quality
It has been pretty bad for me on both my current 2016 R1200RT and my previous bike, a 2014 K1600GT. Same audio system from BMW on both bikes, I think. I achieved some improvement by adding an aftermarket bluetooth transmitter (Brightech DoublePlay HD), hooked up via an ground loop noise is...

Re: New to the RT: tips?
I have a 2016 so there may be some variation, but IMO the factory wind screen is pretty weak. It shouldn't just sit there vibrating, at 75mph, should it? I've tried three replacement brands, and really wish Cee Baileys were still in the market (if you read this I love you people ...

Re: About the brain bucket!
The saddest thing I've ever seen in motorcycling was a child of about seven seated behind his Dad on a motorcycle in suburban traffic, neither one wearing a helmet. I literally could not form words, at the time. Making that universally an issue of child endangerment feels like it...

Re: Emergency lights
Clearwater makes them too. You'd have to call and ask them, but they sold me the bits to do this. Those are the factory fogs mounted under the mirrors, and a set of Ericas on the factory mounts.

Sport seat?
I have a 2016 R1200RT (wet head) and am still trying to figure out the seat. I enjoyed the factory standard-height seat on my previous K1600GT, because it had a rounded shape and kept me up kind of high. It inspired confidence in the twisties, and my knees didn't feel too crunche...

Re: iPhone mount for 2016 R1200RT
The popcorn maker saved me about 20 minutes in traffic this morning, as the Nav V isn't fitted with AI-backed real time traffic awareness and re-routing, but the popcorn maker is. Or maybe that's the fax machine?

Re: iPhone mount for 2016 R1200RT
I use mine for navigation, particularly to addresses that are sent in messages (that'd take frustratingly long to enter into the Nav V). Also for music. Y'all who insist on stuffing it away know that it has a Do Not Disturb function, right? It does not have to be a dist...

Re: Clearwater Erica lights on a 2015 R1200RT
Question for the group... Do Clearwater lights mounted under the mirrors overpower the turn signals? I do not see anything in the CANopener info that says the light turns off if the turn signal is used (unlike the Hexezcan controller). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Clearwater's CANopen...

Re: Potential Beemer Guy - Advice on pending purchase
I went from an '05 ST1300 to a K1600GT, then just recently on to the R1200RT (LC). One point that still sticks out for me is that Honda and BMW take completely different perspectives on what is supposed to happen if you drop the bike in a parking lot. That mistake typically cost ...

Re: Well, nuts - Schuberth and Sena link up
I do not understand why the C3 Pro will be obsolete. The fact is that if you buy a Schuberth M1, it will have a proprietary electrical contact interface that only allows the fitment of a Sena comms system. In fact Sena can afford to give Schuberth the speakers for little or nothing, because they kn...

Re: satellite radio poor sound with bluetooth Sena 20
I have the same major moving parts - 2016 R1200RT and Sena 20s - and tried them together for the first time yesterday. I was astonished at how good the sound was. What sort of problems are you experiencing? Are they the same with the engine running/not running? My last ...

Re: Back to an RT
Just chiming in. I totalled my 2014 K1600GT in a California freeway accident a couple of weeks back. A cage leaping into the HOV lane in a big hurry, from nearly a standing stop in the next lane over, took me out. It was my first real accident in over 40 years of riding...

Re: Considering an RT..
As a practical matter, your dealer will be able to tell you how their demonstrator is equipped, but I rode one last week that was set up pretty close to what I had in mind, and I was looking for a few things. There are certain practical dividing lines. The first of these is whether or not ...

Re: Need advice on LOW SEAT option for r 1200RT
I know dealers can be few and far between, but if you feel that yours might have manipulated the conversation to sell you a bike that he has in stock... I pick up my R1200RT in the morning. It has almost every option available - I am cheap about cars ;-). Heated or not wasn't a q...
