That’s brilliant, just what I needed, thanks.

LC mirror removal
Has anyone taken a mirror off a r1200rt LC model ?
I caught mine on a barrier and damaged the plastic casing, so I now want to replace the casing.
Is there a way of removing the casing without taking the mirror off the bike ?
Any help appreciated.

R1200rt really are special bikes
Over the last couple of yrs I’ve looked at changing the r1200rt LC for something different, not sure why, just fancied a change I guess. Now, I haven’t ridden every bike out there but being totally honest, nothing has come close to the RT, don’t want to over inflate BMW ego’s but the RT is close to ...

Re: Gap insurance
I bought the bike outright, so I’ve got no reason to cover any outstanding finance should the worse happens. The benefits of the gap insurance sounded too good to be true, hence my original posting asking on experiences of this insurance. When the salesman first mentioned the gap insurance, the firs...

Re: Gap insurance
As it was explained to me was :- If the bike gets stolen, written off within the first three yrs my insurance will pay out only the market value, gap insurance will pay the difference between market value and the initial price I paid for the bike. This is guaranteed anytime in the first 3 yrs. Duggie

Re: Gap insurance
I bought a new triumph bobber black Matt, kitted out with a few extras.
I wanted a second bike to take out on a Sunday morning just to have a blast, and have some fun on, the triumph fitted that.

Gap insurance
I bought a new bike Friday and the salesman was trying to sell me gap insurance.
I had heard of this insurance before but I’m in two minds if it’s worth it or not.
Any thoughts on the matter ?
I still have the option of buying in until the end of this month.

Re: Givi tank bags
Decided to buy the Givi xs308, fits the bike a treat, just the right size to carry dlsr camera, lenses etc. Plus a few other bits.
This bag is now discontinued (for whatever reason?) So there are bargains to be had out there.

Re: Bluetooth Headset
Another vote for the cardo packtalk, had mine for a few yrs and it’s been flawless.
Having updated the software recently it’s improved it even more.

Re: Givi tank bags
The xs320 is actually bigger volume wise, 35L compared to 26L for the EA117
Are you sure it’s the xs320 ?

Re: Givi tank bags
Thanks for the replies.
I actually prefer the Givi bag to the BMW bag, especially the fixing system.
Want a tank bag to put camera gear in, plus a clear pocket to take an iPad.

Snowdon
Recently had a few days touring in Snowdon, the roads and scenery are superb.
A route I planned to complete in a day carried over into the following day, mainly as I kept stopping to take in the scenery, which was stunning.
If only our summers were more consistent with the one we’ve just had !!
