I attempted to order these special tools back in 2018, they were not available from BMW and that included Germany.


This month however, the tools are available from BMW outlets but they have increased in price GREATLY !  :(

I have just replaced mine, when I took it off and examined it, it had 3 splits/holes in it !
I used non hardening gasket compound to seal both ends of the boot, if that helps anyone :-)

Bakup Back Rest - Rider for BMW R1200RT 2005-2013

Back rest used only three times, VGC.

Back rest is adjustable for both height and rake.

Back rest folds down allowing rider to get on bike in the "normal" way.


This back rest will not fit the LC version.

Yes, please see my post in the GPS thread, by buying a few BMW items, using central locking from either the nearside or offside storage (central locking connections) pods the SatNav V or Vi will be secured from the casual thief !
