Re: Kill switch - in motion

Haven't you heard the Repsol Honda replica type racers make their machines backfire using the kill switch?

Don't know what it does to the engines but it certainly doesn't hurt the riders judging by how often they do it!

Re: R1200RT Tall screen for sale (in UK)

Hi both posters

Are your screens the Z2402 or the taller Z2403 models please?

Also what is you reason for selling if you don't mind me asking.

At 6'2" I reckon I might need the taller model

Thanks

Re: iPhone mount for 2016 R1200RT

I was wondering.  In U.K. with the recent increase in fines, points and prison time allocated to the use of phones while driving, what's the fuzz likely to make of one sitting up on the bars. The answer could be here https://bikerandbike.co.uk/using-screen-based-devices-on-motorbikes/

Re: EXhaust leak at Clamp

I have two clamps - one either side of a plastic box which I assume is the 'flap' It seems to be leaking on both sides of the joint so goodness knows what's been going on there. Hi all,

I have noticed what appears to be a leak at he joint between the exhaust pipe and the back box on my 2013 R1200RT

How common is this as a fault and how easy to fix please?

Thanks

Re: Should I be worried about this?

Doesn't magnesium alloy have the same trait in this respect as aluminium alloy, ie degassing when being cast and porosity problems thereafter? Who on earth manufactures these castings for BMW if this is possibly the cause?? Our Asian friends with naff quality control per chance? Rant over! ;) Exact...
