2009 R1200RT fuel range
Hi, the fuel strip sensor in my R1200RT has failed again! I’m away for a few days touring and I’ll need to use the mileage trip meter to judge fuel level. As a rough guide, what mileage would I get from a full tank, non motorway riding and pretty quick. I’m only after an approx and will refuel in pl...

Re: 2009 fuel gauge, possible sensor problem
No warranty replacement available in the UK, I gave up with Jeffries. I got it replaced by the Workshop in York. Think it was about £200, the sensor is £125.

Re: Front Pegs
I`m 5`7 with the same problem, but I like the bike for touring, so I had to make some changes. I bought the BMW lower seat and I had the bike lowered by replacing the shocker springs with ones with a very slightly different temper. This lowers the bike by around 30-40mm and makes it completely manag...

Re: Front Pegs
A good idea, I think I`ll try removing the footrest springs on my 09. At times they do get in the way for a short arse!

2009 fuel gauge, possible sensor problem
Hi folks, my fuel gauge was showing approx 20% full, the mileage to empty was showing about 95 miles. So no problem thinks I. Then it runs out of fuel!! Luckily I was out with a pal who fetched some fuel and off we went. Anyone experienced similar with the 2009? It’s the model before the twin spark....

Mine is a 2009, love it, although I had to have the suspension adapted/lowered to reach the floor safely !!

Re: Fitting headlamp bulbs
Switching the engine on doesn`t make a diference. The full beam works ok, either full on or flashing.

Re: Fitting headlamp bulbs
Does anyone know if the headlights are fused, and if so where is the fuse box. MY 2009 R1200RT has both dip bulbs out. Ive bought the Osram replacements. Ive changed the left, yes quite a faff and definately a technique needed to fit it quickly. It is fitted correctly with the spring clips in place ...

How did you get on with the new lights? both dip beam bulbs on my 2009 R1200RT have gone and need replacing. I`m looking at the options just now.
