Re: NAV VI Ghosting
I am on my third but the first 2 were within a year of buying the bike a 17. This one has been solid for 3 years now. Same issue on the two I sent away. My 5 NEVER had a issue and still lives in my car. The 6 is just a much better screen.

Re: R 1200 rt headlights
These are the best to date and have been used by many.
Most use the cooling method with braided wires but these fan units last about 5 years according to them. I personally put a fan one in a 650 Vulcan and it is really a great light.

Re: Issues putting 2018 panels on 2014 RT
Yes I posted in 15 that my 15 RT came with Velcro and people seemed like they had not seen it before. It was stock on mine. I think PadG and I was talking about removing these panels and how I used to do it. I would rather have two screws then those tabs.

Re: Differential Rear Spline Lubrication Interval
I had to replace the shaft in my old K100RS. It had worn the splines like it had been machined. It was also dry and coated in rust powder. It was only curiosity that made me strip and look at it. I was not aware of these issues. I noticed my R1200RT has a surplus of white grease around the hinge se...

Re: Differential Rear Spline Lubrication Interval
And that is why EVERYONE should look at thier splines at least once. Here is a step by step who I attend his yearly tech meeting of about 60 or so bikes. I tought and did cam checks on 1200's last year the whole time there. If you look through this link you will see why you should look at ...

Re: Denali
Yes it is a great product for controlling various accessories on a motorcycle. And even the Gen I of ezCAN with the right lights is great. I ran it and a set of Rigid D4 lights and a Gen I ezCAN on my 15 RT and it was a great setup. Yes I had to refit the connectors I had cut off...

Re: Denali
I was wanting the exact same thing for my 2014 RT. I went with the Denali B6, hanging below the license plate, and the CANsmart. If you have a 2014+, my tip is to run the wire behind the license plate and drill through on the underside of that protruding area with the red reflector. I went with a h...

Re: Pannier problem
My 15 RT was terrible in this regard. My right side bag would do as described and the only thing that worked was also to take the bag off, and install it again. It was a real pain and it did it when the stars aligned. Only when it felt like it, never consistent or every...

Re: Alternator failure
Sorry to hear this. While not too common and the 14 to 16/17 bikes age we are seeing more stators going. It seems BMW upgraded them somewhere late 16 early 17 with a new one. The old ones I have seen pictures of look like kids did the winding, I mean they were terrible....

Re: Replacement Battery recommendations
Use a Yuasa battery as they are a great battery and one of the few that actually make their own, not sell one made to spec and then some label wrapped on it.

Re: Screens Again!
Had no idea it was that much of a thing to do. I also would not be up to chasing something to receive it. Here it is just wait time. I dont have to chase anything. I order from the Visor Shop and and my tires come from them in 3 days! Not sure why yo...

Re: Screens Again!
Yeah I got what he was saying, I just thought it somewhat perverse to recommend the two things I had specifically said I was trying to avoid. Thanks for your and jjwills comments though, I am still considering the Werks but by the time you have added the 22.5% taxes and handling fees on the screen ...

Aeroflow shields are second to none. Great shields. I will repeat my take on windshields. One shield can not do 4 seasons! You need 2 windshields. How can you expect to get air in the summer, and no air in the winter from the same shield? I run a sum...

Re: Exhaust Flow Control Valve (Twin Cam 2013)
The flap does NOTHING for performance in any of the PRM range. It is there strictly for noise reduction. if you start you bike with the muffler off you can see and watch the flap at a few throttle positions. It never closes more then 2/3rds of the way and is full on ope...

Re: Here we go - 1250 Calliper issues
"Keen-eyed BikeSocialists will have spotted the 1250 front calipers say ‘BMW’ instead of ‘Brembo’. This is because they’re now made by Hayes in the US, who are better known for mountain bike brake systems (although they make a few motorcycle brake calipers and parts)." My father worked fo...
