Re: R1200RT Weather Cover

Dowco Guardian Weatherall Plus Motorcycle Cover - Size LG
Best one I've tried, doesn't get ruined by the weather it's supposed to protect from.I can fit it with no luggage, or with just the panniers, or just the top box, or with all luggage (just).

Re: New Front discs not aligned centrally in brake caliper body

Just fitted new discs/pads (Brembo) on my 07 R1200 RT Failed MOT due to part of caliper body (fin) nearly touching disc (0.2 mm gap) with good clearance on other side of disc ..say 3mm gap between disc and caliper fin... Nearly a week gone by with no update, what's happening, what turned out to be ...

Re: New Front discs not aligned centrally in brake caliper body

What a terrible video, out of focus and shaky. Anyway it did show that the disks are mounted with the bolt going through a bushing that had a thin flange. Perhaps when fitting discs, the flanged bush has been put on incorrectly and has offset the discs from their correct position. Either that, or th...

Re: New Front discs not aligned centrally in brake caliper body

Perhaps the discs are left and right sided and they've been fitted to the wrong sides of the wheel, or just flipped?

Foreign object between rear brake lever and the rest stop?
Caked mud or foreign object jamming rear master cylinder and/or switch?

The diagnostic connector is a large round plug/socket.The seats connect to a small rectangular/square connector.

Re: angel gt

That's an old tyre design and has been outclassed by newer tyres anyway.Metzeler are part of the same company/group as Pirelli I believe, they have the Roadtec 01 in HWM form for the R1200 RT.

Re: 2016 Rt - Givi V56 Maxia 4 Top Box Installed

Is that because it doesn't have electrical contacts in the plate?I'd read that the Givi mounts with electrical contacts were prone to burning out the contacts and not working reliably anyway. The BMW box has a wire and plug that connects under the pillion seat, so it's not any different to doing the ...

Re: Rode a GS yesterday...

It has always baffled me why the GS is so popular considering 95% of owners only ever ride on the road... Go and look at the thread about roads ruining the ride. In Australia we have a lot of badly maintained roads, rough roads, gravel roads and the like. A GS or other "all road" bike mak...

Re: Which tyres for my RT

The Metzeler Roadtec 01 beat PR4, Roadsmart and other sport touring tyres in a Motorrad Magazine test. The Roadtec 01 have been the best feeling and gripping tyres I've had on my R1200Rt LC so far, out of Bridgestone T30, PR4 and The Roadtec.

Re: Roads spoiling the riding?

We get similar issues in Australia.
Potholes, uneven surfaces after repairs, loose gravel left after resealing/repairs, tar snakes, melting tar, and the list goes on.

Re: Michelin Road 5 Compatibility

Michelin AU site still says use PR4 GT on large/heavy bikes.
Michelin International site still says use PR4 GT on large/heavy bikes.
Nothing about Road 5 GT still.

Re: Michelin Road 5 Compatibility

Even if they are (I can't see it being much of an issue), the heavy carcass version for large/heavy bikes like our RTs is not available yet.
So you can't get a Road 5 suitable just yet. I think mid-year was the expected release date for the GT version.
