Re: Oil change site glass capacity question

Hi, just changed oil in my new (2009) RT. I used Motul 7100 10/50 syn and feel good about this choice. The containers show capacity at 1.05 quarts per. That comes to 4.2 qts total which is bike's capacity, so all s/b good. I filled and started, then filled and started and ran again. Then I went for...

Re: 2016 R1200RT eating batteries?

This RT is not keyless ride.  I do have a very good multimeter.  It says 7A draw through the bike with all accessory wires removed.  I would expect less than 50mA.  It seems there is some parasitic current draw in the BMW wiring.  Some other forums sugge...

If you have keyless ignition, are you leaving the key too close to the bike when not using it?

Re: 2016 R1200RT eating batteries?

Hi, I Purchased my 2016 R1200RT brand new Dec 2016 and never had an issue, it charges while running at 14.1 pretty constant. See what yours charges at when running, first step. - If you don’t have the on screen charging info then hook up some leads to battery and check your voltage input. Go from th...

Re: Installing Denali DataDim Intensity Controller

Thanks Dave for the info it really helped! For anyone else wondering where to put the trigger wires: For my 2016 R1200RT installing the large Denali DR1 2.0 lights - the plug is also on the left side- no need to remove all the panels on the right. I removed everything anyways because I decided to c...

Re: Installing Denali DataDim Intensity Controller

With searching for R1200RT headlight plug wiring colours drawing a blank, decided to have a look at the K1600 which has a similar headlight. https://www.k1600forum.com/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,onerror=redirect,width=1920,height=1920,fit=scale-down/http://www.k1600forum.com/forum/attachment.php?att...

Re: Installing Denali DataDim Intensity Controller

On the rear of the headlight unit, there is a block connector. You may have to remove some of the tape from around the wires. My best educated guess is that low beam is yellow and high beam is white. Checking at the back of the bulbs themselves may help to confirm if this is the case. Sorry, I'm st...

Re: Installing Denali DataDim Intensity Controller

I have no experience of installing Denali lights but have done some "Google" research, is this any help. Are these the Denali instructions, https://d1l4i7f87txqmq.cloudfront.net/Installation%20Instructions/Denali/DENALI%202.0/Instructions_DNL.WHS.11000_rev00.pdf Found a thread on BMWLT, h...

Installing Denali DataDim Intensity Controller

Hi I am about to install some Denali lights and ordered this controller that dims the light using my stock hi beam switch. Unfortunately the instructions are poor as they tell me to search and test wires with a test light to find the correct wire to tap onto. Has anyone done this installation that c...
