Re: starting problem
I have had a similar issue, poor starting. Changed the starter for a known good one, same issue. Changed battery, seemed OK and then after being in garage for a week on Optimate, same trouble starting. Used a 'normal' battery charger for a couple of hours, bike started fine. As I think the optimal h...

Re: New 09 or old 09
i have an 09 and have fitted mirrors. Quick check, look at brake and clutch lever bar clamps, you should see an unused hole. If so, get onto Motorworks and they'll sell you the correct mirrors. You'll be thankful you did, better views and then you'll be able to fit some bark busters hand shields. Th...

Re: Proper seat hight
I’m 5’5” ,28” inside leg and use a low one piece seat and get both balls of feet on the ground. Don’t have any problems moving the bike around, just make sure on uneven ground that I stop near a raised bit of ground. I don’t know if there is a difference between the one piece low and the front low s...

Re: Led Headlight conversion
Headlight reflectors are designed for specific bulbs to throw the light where it needs to be. If you fit an LED bulb, as the light is spread over several chips and not a single source, the spread by the reflectors will be terrible. The only way to overcome this is a total conversion complete with re...

Re: The longest tour
Maybe, we Brits could compete if we calculated Sq miles of USA against UK. Then, we could say that for every 1k the USA toured, we did, what? 250 miles. otherwise, we'd just be going around the M25 just to keep up with you guys. Plus, our petrol price is now around $6 a gallon, (guesstimate) which m...

Re: 2012 R1200RT Rear Sidecase slightly loose
Thanks for that info - just ordered a set at £4.62! I've been looking at the topbox parts to see if there's anything similar for it - nothing seems to be missing or adjustable though. Pete Where did you order these? Looked online, found a few, more pricey than yours with very hefty shipping. Either...

Re: Roads spoiling the riding?
I'm with Our Gee, Yorkshire roads are a disgrace. Councils appear to be happy with paying the less than 1% of motorists who make a claim. eventually, it is going to take a few lost lives to get an improvement. the sad thing is, it would take a lot less than the tax raised from fuel, road licence, ne...

Re: Bank holiday ... Good weather ... What ya doing?
Did hedges and lawn yesterday, put hedge through chipping machine. Aching all over this morning. Will watch MotGP, then clean windows and then work out how to fit the headlight protector. Weird plastic strip with bobbles!
Hopefully tomorrow, get out on the bike and try to miss the Tour De Yorkshire!
