Re: Removing fairing/dash
What size bulbs did you use and how do you like them? Did you change the HI as well? Always a good feeling after a successful job! :kacsint2: I used the DDM Plus Canbus ballast kit that used 35w 4500k H7s. It was a little more expensive and the ballast are larger, but I...

Re: Removing fairing/dash
Installed the HID light kit today. Couldn't figure out how to remove the fairing (I removed every single screw I could fine, but it wouldn't budge), but the HID install was a breeze. Didn't have any of the headlight troubles I was expecting after reading about how difficult it is...

Removing fairing/dash
I'm looking for info/resources on how to remove the fairing and dash for a 2013 R1200rt so I can install HID light in the comfort of my home instead of breaking my fingers off. I have looked for tutorials and videos, but they typically only show taking off the plastics. Is this d...

Re: Looking for HID lighting clarifications - what is needed?
Had a set about 5 years ago on a other bike. One still works, other burned out after 3 years. Changed bulb and ballast, they are not that expensive. On the RT a bought a UltraCanBus. Yes, more expensive, but had no issues with. I don't know about your model/year bike, but mine was not easy to insta...

Looking for HID lighting clarifications - what is needed?
I have a 2013 RT Looking for some HID low beam lighting clarification. I know there are a lot of threads about this, but they all seem to be missing some basic info. Lots of people have commented about installing the lights, but I haven't found much about the components they use...

Re: Heated Seats not working?
Thanks, David. I went out this morning when it was 35 and rode around for an hour and it seemed like the seat did come on...so maybe it is hooked into the thermostat? I don't know, but I guess BMW decided how cold it must be before the heated seats work!

Heated Seats not working?
I turned on my heated seats for about 90 minutes today and they never seemed to get warm. I have heard that they won't come on unless it is 59 degrees or lower, but I am not sure that is true. Anyone else have experience with this. It seems odd that neither seat would g...

Re: <!> symbol, Oil level, burning oil?
I did the mileage calculations and I used 5/8 of a quart in 615 miles. 2-up for 300 of those. Mix of mountain curvys roads and highway driving.

Re: <!> symbol, Oil level, burning oil?
I'm not sure you ever had a low oil problem and I think you may have over-filled it. My advice would be to take the bike to someone who is familiar with them and try to get to the bottom of what is happening. If indeed your bike is an oil user, the worst thing to do is over-fill it. I had ...

Re: <!> symbol, Oil level, burning oil?
As a followup to this, I added oil (a little less than 1/2 quart) to the top of the site glass. In 350 miles it is now down to the halfway point in the site glass. That seems excessive, but maybe it isn't?

Re: Navigator V >Trip Planner > Select Next Destination
If you go off route it will recalculate a new route to your waypoint which if its the destination could mean a completely new route. Not what you want. To stop this simply turn 'off' auto route recalculation. What will happen then is when you go off route nothing will happen. The Nav will not recal...

Re: Navigator V >Trip Planner > Select Next Destination
Paggers, this seemed to work really well but I still have an issue now that I have gotten the routing sorted. I made two routes this evening. One had a number of "points". The other was a copy of this, but in basecamp I highlighted the points and changed them from "alert on arrival&qu...

Re: Navigator V >Trip Planner > Select Next Destination
I suspect this is caused by a misunderstanding of alerting - I come across it all the time. In the image below you can see a simple route in BaseCamp with three waypoints. You will note that next to the second waypoint is the text "(won't alert)". This is what BaseCamp refers to as a 'sha...

Navigator V >Trip Planner > Select Next Destination
I have a Navigator V and all software and maps are up to date. I have used BaseCamp to create a route and transferred it to my device. When I open the trip planner and select this route, it always asks me to "Select Next Destination". I do this, but no matter ...

<!> symbol, Oil level, burning oil?
I bought a 2013 RT a month ago with 22,000 miles. The dealer changed the oil with 4 units of SVC 15w50 BMW Advantec Pro SS oil. After putting 1,300 miles on the bike, mainly with 2-up riding, the <!> symbol came on next to the BC label. The manual says this, accompanied...
