Olive oil works really well too. Doesn't need to be anything special.

Re: Gerbing or similar heated clothing
I have a Keis heated waistcoat/vest for chilly days when I might be out as the temp drops at night. Gerbing heated jacket liner and gloves for when it's really cold, or I have a long day in the saddle. Both are excellent and highly recommended. It's surprising how much nicer a ride is, when you feel...

Re: Front storage containers
If you do not have radio large space behind speaker covers. I haven't bought the bike yet, so I don't know whether it will or not. Even if it does, I can always go down that route, as I'll never use the radio. Removing the speakers should be easy enough. I noticed in another thread that someone has...

Thanks guys. I was hoping they'd be bigger, but I can leave the topbox on, if needs be.

Re: Innovv Dual Camera dashcam installed on R1200RT LC
One piece of advice with regard to fitting. The control units on these systems tend to get warm and in the absence of airflow they cook themselves and stop working. I have lost two (one bike, one car) this way. I managed to shoe-horn the control unit for the bike under the rear seat which I think w...

Re: Front storage containers
The Nav VI will completely fill the compartment. You could consider putting the items you mention in the same place as your helmet. gloves, earplugs, neck-tube etc. when you are travelling. Sorry I didn't make myself clear. The battery and leads are for re-charging the bluetooth headsets when we st...

Re: techno fobe comms question
I can't speak for fitting to the Shark helmet, but I'm a big fan of Sena Bluetooth headsets. I've found them to be ideal for talking to my pillion, streaming music ( I know you don't do it, but your pillion might want to ) and will allow you to take prompts from the Nav too. They last a good few hou...

Re: Front storage containers
Thanks for the confirmation: I've got no idea. It would depend on their size. I understand the Nav VI will fit in one, but for days out I would like to take some charging leads for the phones/headsets and a portable battery. Maybe a couple of tools/tape/tie wraps for minor repairs. I gather they are...

Re: Garmin, why the fascination with farm tracks?
My 595LM was doing exactly the same thing, last time I used it ( Leicester to Hemel avoiding motorways ). I even had my phone running Google maps, for comparison and a few times they gave turns in the opposite direction.
I hadn't thought to try 'Car' mode, which I will do next time.

Re: Innovv Dual Camera dashcam installed on R1200RT LC
Really nice install. Will be doing something very similar.
I assume the unit doesn't draw too much power, so SWMBO can use her heated vested in the rear socket as well, if needs be ?

Re: Power Source on LC
I had to bin my original 'Innov' dual-camera system as the control unit 'bricked' itself (I also had one for the car which went the same way - Chinese crap, I recommend that everyone steers well clear). That's worrying as I have a K1 on my Explorer which i would bring across to the RT. I have the I...
