You could always spend money and have both bars and head protectors. Nippy Norman’s are promising Machine Art Moto head covers that work with Wunderlich bars ( assuming you prefer these)

The BMW logo pops out / levers of its hole, there are a couple of securing lugs. The ram ball comes with a long screw which you hand rotate into the hole.5 mins max job.

I think you mean control of the Nav by the wonder wheel? If so then yes you lose a fair bit with an RT (I moved form an S1000XR).
