Re: Considering Coming Over from S1000R - What to know?

Matt, if you are test riding the 2021 model, you can adjust the suspension as well to lower the seat height considerably.  Ask the salesman to show you how to set the auto suspension to "minimum".  That said, I manage the bike OK with the settings on Auto and the seat at ...

Re: Screens Again!

I have a Puig Screen for sale off of my R1200RT Sport, slightly wider and taller than the standard screen.  It is in good condition and £75 ono.

I am in Hampshire though so it is a bit of a trek for you.

Re: Wanted: aftermarket screen for 2010 RT

Gents You can successfully cut down the taller screens with a jigsaw (using a good quality masking tape to protect the screen when cutting [eg, frog tape], at least two inches either side of the cut line, more is better),  if you are careful and go slowly so that the plastiglass does not st...

Re: R1200RT TC - low screen

You can either cut down the original (masking tape and jigsaw) and make your own or get the OEM RT Sport screen.  The RT Sport screen has much more air flow (or buffeting depending on your interpretation) and works OK when fully raised.  Be prepared to get covered in flies though!&...

Re: 2014 r1200rt lc hill start assist

If you pull the front break again it will switch the hill start assist off, just cover with back brake when doing so.

It takes a few goes to get the hang of it!

Re: Puig Touring Screens

Hi Yes I have a PUIG screen just fitted to my RT Sport (the one with the OEM cut down screen). The difference is very noticeable.  No buffeting and complete protection (I am 5' 8").  However, I consider the PUIG screen is too high for me and I will need to cut two inches off t...

Re: Newbie

Thanks guys, my last two RTs were Ebony so I wanted a new colour.  The 'Sport' name is a bit 'tongue in cheek' as there is no performance gain other than a lower (less protection) screen and a fancy colour scheme.

Still a good bike though and they do hustle if you have a mind to do so.

Newbie

Hi all First post to say hello to all. I have recently picked up a 2018 R1200 RT Sport (in Red) having had four RTs previously (and a couple of Multistradas in between). So far so good, the gearbox is another (small) step forward from the 2016 RT I had previously.  I have mixed opinions abo...
