Re: Nav VI
I've a 2021 RT after selling my 2015 RT so I'm on my 3rd RT. The nav system on the 21 is awful. Cell phone driven so if you lose cell service you lose nav. Ducky. It's also really miserable when it comes to mapping and it's not possible to switch to Google Maps as in the car via BMW Auto. When order...

2021 Nav system alternate.
Being really tired and frustrated with the nav system on the RT awaiting for it to activate on the TFT screen, I've come upon two methods to get better performance. The first is when it's trying to connect, exit the screen and immediately go back to connect. It connects almost im...

Re: TFT, BMW Connected App and Navigation
Interesting post. I'm completely baffled by the new system and think it's awful compared to the numerous Garmin Nav's that I've had since forever even though I've had the Garmin get lost (one couldn't find I-10 in NOLA when the I-10 was in front of me and another took me to a Navajo school...

Re: Staying dry in rain, 2012 RT seat
Having ridden in the rain on numerous cross country trips, I've used Klim and BMW jackets/pants. My last ride using Klim Badlands was through some 2500 miles through rain, storms and wind. Miserable as miserable can be, but not a drop of water got through jacket or pants.

Try ProtectAll. Good for the entire motorcycle.

Re: Engine bars
I bit the bullet and went with Ilium. Excellent product and they work. Actually used the bars to tie down the RT to a bulkhead on the SS Badger traversing Lake Michigan in really bad weather. Bars took a few new nicks, but the RT was fine. Also had a spill in ...

Re: Michelin Road 5 Compatibility
As has been noted, the Road 5 GT is not yet available. In dumping the Metzeler rubber, three weeks ago I opted for the Pirelli Angel GT "A" spec. and promptly took off for a 2500 mile ride from the Central Coast through various parts of Nevada, Utah and circled around to see some...
