Re: 2016 R1200RT eating batteries?

Have you found the root cause? 7A power off drain would have me disconnecting the battery, I'd be concerned about the potential fire risk from whatever is sucking the current.

Re: 2009 fuel gauge, possible sensor problem

I recently commented on a similar issue in a day of disasters. 30 miles range my low fuel warning came on, 28 miles range I ran out of fuel, 2007 RT. Apparently we have some sort of "fuel strip sensor" rather than a float based arrangement, They appear to have somewhat of a reputation, put...

Today didn't pan out quite as expected.

Any ride that gets you home without tarmac surfing or sudden deceleration events is a good ride. However there are some days and rides that make you think “Should have stayed in bed”…… Today the RT has been ungrateful, considering it was MOT and Road5GT day. Battery had had a little top up in the we...

Re: Should I buy this RT

It seems quite overpriced to me. A quick search on autotrader suggests £4K should put you in the 2007-2008 30-40K miles bike bracket.

Re: Insurance quote weirdness.

I switched from Bennets to Carol Nash this year, added on some extra "extras" and still came away £40 cheaper than Bennets.
You have to play the shopping around game.

Oil filter storage - use or bin ?

So, being a bit of a muppet last year when I change the oil and filter I left my stock of filters** in the garage over winter. Its unheated, doesn't leak single skin brick, not too much condensation, but I don't leave the toolbox in there. I was wondering if the general moisture levels would have h...

Re: Is my 2010 RT linked braking

<snip> iABS 2 has an electrically-controlled pump to provide rear brake pressure, so, in that sense, it's 'assisted' - 'servo' is a bit of a misnomer really. Pete We'll that's the new thing I learnt today, I had incorrectly assumed it just split the pressure from the front master cylinder.

Re: Insurance Renewal

I commented elsewhere that this year I was quoted £460 and ended paid less than half, through the same broker. Apparently they receive the renewal quote from the insurer and just send it out instead of doing a "re-quote". Nearly lost them a customer.

Wouldn't a 2010 be non-servo ? My 2007 is non-servo and linked as millipod said.

Re: Brake calliper torx screws 2010 model

Sounds like you've got just over 50% of the engagement you should have, buy the 40mm ones. Caliper mounts seem an area to play safe. Don't forget the correct grade, I've no idea what they should be 8.8??

Worth phoning your insurance company...

At renewal time. Bennetts wanted the comedy sum of £460 for an '07 LT, 50 mumble years old rider, clean licence, 3 years no claim, locked garage in a "non-combat" zone. After expressing my unhappiness I have the same cover (inc helmets and gear) for £228. That covers a few tanks...
