Re: Exhaust flap
I think Black Widow make alternate headers that seem to dispense with the valve, they're about £315 on fleabay.

Re: What am I doing wrong, Nav 5
Apparently it doesn't have the connectivity on the RT that it does on the GS, however, if you have the audio package fitted then it does seem to work. I don't have the audio on mine so lost connectivity.

Re: 2018 GS Adventure vs 2018 RT
Might be heresy on this forum, but for what the OP is using his bike for another option might be the R1200R or for a bit sportier an RS. The GSA is a great bike, but I switched to an RT due to a combination of height and weight and my dodgy leg joints. Love the RT though.

Re: Rear Seat Replacement - i.e. shelf
That's interesting, I rarely carry a pillion so the rack would be very useful, may even be possible to mount the topbox where the pillion seat would be and move the weight in front of the rear axle.

Re: New Addition - 2015 RT
Enjoy your new bike they're great.
As for the sat nav, the RT doesn't seem to have the connectivity of the other models so you might as well just get a standard Garmin, unlesss BMW have brought out an upgrade to fix the issue.

Re: EVENING ALL
I too have switched to an RT from a GSA. My main issue was becoming the combination of height and weight. I did find the RT a bit cramped but has been helped by lowered pegs and bar risers. I also dropped on a Wunderlich screen and found it works for me. Just waiting on my Sargent seat, which will p...

Re: Kevlar Jeans
Hood jeans are good and seem a better price than Draggin jeans. Also have a look at the Roadskin website, they do some impressive seeming jeans at good prices.

Having just gone back to an RT after 6 years on Adventures, I've discovered this forum and decided to say hello. I'm based on the north coast of Scotland. I've attached a pic of my new (to me) RT taken on a ride out a couple of weeks ago.

Re: 2018 Annual RT Meet
Just seen this as only signed up to the forum a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately I'm just setting off on the 7th so can't make it. Next year maybe, unless I'm off to Garmisch.

Re: Wunderlich Ergo Comfort Seat - R1200RT LC
I have the lowering pegs, they make a substantial improvement, thinking of changing the seat as it feels like I'm sat on a breeze block.
