Re: Top Box colour and pads query

I purchased the deluxe top case online from KFM motorraeder for less than half of what the dealer was asking.  I painted it myself with color matched paint from Colorite (a U.S. company),including clear coat.  It's not a perfect paint job if you look closely, since I didn't bother...

Re: Top Box colour and pads query

Yes, I bought this 49 litre BMW top box (silver more than the claimed white colour) from this German internet company. Granted, they’re not cheap, but they are nicely engineered, and the box was delivered to my home address here in the UK without fuss or delay, and suitably packed in bubble wrap in...

Re: Top Box colour and pads query

Hi Toby, ready-painted topboxes are available in some K1600 colours and for the current R1200RT colours (Carbon Black, Mars Red, Alpine White), but they are expensive from BMW (there's a surprise!). Colour-matched lids are also available, but again, they're expensive. See here on the Bohling und Ei...

Top Box colour and pads query

Hi, I've been looking at the top box for the 2014 onwards RT and it only seems to be available in white aluminium (according to the accessories brochure) yet I've seen plenty of these colour matched to the bike. Can you buy them in different colours or do you have to ask BMW or 3rd party to paint th...

Re: Potentially getting back into biking and have some queries about the RT

you could get a foot peg lowering kit that might help a bit?
Yeah, that was one of the other options :) I thought of a footpeg lowering kit but I am concerned about the reduced clearance and chances of scrapping the pegs... Re: Potentially getting back into biking and have some queries about the RT

Snerkler, Well I wouldn't say it's very nice of them as I asked for a high seat based on the results from the BMW-Motorrad.com seat height configurator application. According to the application, my inner leg curve is 1836mm (6'2', 36" waist, 33" insea...

Re: Potentially getting back into biking and have some queries about the RT

as a suggestion, as I have no knowledge of the above due to me being a short arse, have you considered the K1600 bagger with the foot plates, therefore you could extend your legs out? The only downside is you cannot change gear and rear brake from the foot rests as far as I'm aware ? I considered t...

That's very nice of them  :)  So how tall are you, and how're you finding the RT for size?

Re: Potentially getting back into biking and have some queries about the RT

Hi Toby, I'm having the exact same questions, so very much looking forward to see the answers. I bought a 2018 a few weeks ago and told the dealer I would like to swap the normal seat to a high seat. Obviously they don't have any in stock and they don't want to order a single seat for 700$CA, so th...

Potentially getting back into biking and have some queries about the RT

Hi, I'm thinking of getting back into biking after having 6 years off due to a nerve injury and also fibromyalgia, and now that the nerve injury has gone I'm hoping that I can cope with just the fibro. With that in mind I have to think very carefully about which bike I go for, and have ruled out my ...
