Re: Replace low beam head light with LED on 2017 RT
Just be aware that the headlight reflector is designed for halogen bulbs, led bulbs do not emit the light in the same way & you may well end up with an incorrect pattern thus failing the mot test not to mention upsetting oncoming motorists. You would be better off fitting led driving l...

Weight of your bike with fluids comes out at just over 604lbs so regarding weight the bike is well within the jacks lifting capacity.

Re: BMW Motorrad 6 sat nav / flat battery
Have you any idea how old the battery is? Could well be the battery, modern batteries unlike those from years ago give no warning of failure. The only real way to check a batteries state is with an electronic battery tester, my bike is fitted with a tracker which I have programme...

Why not fit the dual usb socket from Nippy Norman’s GZM-UBPS01 to replace the din socket, takes minutes to do as it is a straight swap.

Re: Gap insurance
I feel it is worth using gap insurance but as said shop around as I managed cover for 3 years at a cost of £112.00. But still be aware as there are various levels of gap insurance which was made clear on the site I used.

Re: Tire valve nipple too short?
Pop down to your local tyre fitting station & see what they have in valve extensions that will fit & use when needed. you can then fit it when needed to inflate the tyre’s then remove it to store on the bike.

Re: An unusual request
Sorry to read about your medical condition but glad you are on the mend & preparing yourself to get back to your bike. Regarding bike wear I would assume you mean trousers if so how about “bib & braces” type trousers which would remove the need for a belt.

Neither all diagnostic programme is on the hand unit you see using touch screen, this can be updated via your computer very similar to the pads you see in vehicle workshops.

Duonix Bike-Scan
Not sure if anyone has seen the diagnostic scan tool from Germany but thought it worth a look as it is somewhat cheaper than the competition from the states.

Re: Carole Nash 6 wheel policy
That is the problem as I am not far north of London just by J11 on the M1 but that was the cheapest quote with several security devices fitted one being a tracker. Just have to grin & bear it could be worse, goodness knows how youngsters or those newish to motorcles can afford to insur...

Re: What am I doing wrong, Nav 5
I may be barking up the wrong tree as I own the 6 but have you got the sat nav "Safe Mode" turned off because if it is on it will not allow you to undertake some tasks whilst moving & this includes the use of the scroll wheel.

Re: Carole Nash 6 wheel policy
Like others after many years I have also dumped CN as they have put my premiums up, fair enough I went from a ST1300 on an 05 plate to a 2015 R1200RT so expected an increase but not by £385. They also tried auto renewal despite me stating every year I do not request that on any insurance p...
