Re: Wanted: tank bag for 2010-13 RT
Hello
I have the BMW one for sale, I would prefer collection (a bit big/expensive to post & can't be faffed)
Not sure where you are, I am just South of York if that helps?
Let me know if that suits you........

Re: 2019 R1250 RT LE Corrosion
I had a new engine and driveshaft housing on my 2019 RT. My bike never went out in Winter salt and hardly ever in the rain. It seems like poor paint preparation because looks like it affects all surfaces/joints that are machined. Not helped I think by modern alloys that have a percentage of re-cycle...

Re: 2021 R1250RT LE self cancelling indicators
I seem to remember there are only 2 options, one long and one short.
I think Casbar's comment confirms that the longest is less than 300 yards.
I do not believe there is an option to choose anything else.

I am not so sure, mine does not have Ventureshield , but it does have moulding marks in exactly the same place.

Re: Even at 6'2" my seat seems very high
As far as I am aware all models of RT have only ever had two seat heights , however you can specify a low seat version or a factory lowered version when ordering. All seat heights are a compromise but you could maybe have the seat re-profiled. Also it depends whether you have long legs or a long bac...

Engine Corrosion
My 2019 1250RT has a few areas of corrosion on the engine cases, these are where paint blisters appeared underneath the paint and lacquer (I assume as a result of poor metal preparation.) There are also some small areas on the bevel drive housing. I put in a Warranty Claim expecting these areas to b...

Re: Loan bike charges
I have yet to experience this, but I know VW wanted to charge my wife £20 for a "Courtesy Car" recently. They say due to Covid, sanitising the car twice (before and after use) and as their loan car is Electric for charging!!! Needless to say she declined their offer!! So it wouldn't surpri...

Re: Tyre Pressures Again
I pump mine up and check the pressure when cold (as recommended) and usually the on board pressure shown is a bit less. Mine have never shown the same pressure as a decent tyre pressure gauge. On a decent run in warm weather they usually go up a little on the dash. The mechanic at my Dealer said tha...

Re: Battery life.
These days with modern batteries and using Optimate or a BMW charger once a month (over Winter or when not in use) they usually last about 5 years. Anything over that is a bonus, batteries can suddenly die without warning after that. They seem to last longer if the bike used 5 or 6 times a week (i.e...

Re: Spare key
When I had a 2011 twin cam I used the plastic key to start the bike (just to make sure it worked) I was told by the dealer that it had the same "chip" in it as the main key. My 2019 shift cam RT did not come with a plastic key and I was told they no longer do them. (I deliberately did not ...
