Re: Wobbly feeling on my RT coming from a testride on a japanese bike

On my 2018 applying light pressure with one foot will start a turn in that direction, very sensitive to any input. I found the bike wobbly for the first couple of kilometers first time I rode it.

Re: R1200RT running problems

I think you will find any of the older R's and K's with the getrag transmission do that, it's quite a large clunky 3 shaft transmission.. my R60 /2, K100, K1100 and K1200 all did it.

Re: Clutch issue

What year is the bike? Have you lubricated lever pivot pin? The only bad experience I have had was on my K100, the barrel of the master cylinder is open to the air, water and dirt, was dirty and corroded causing resistance to piston free movement, it was not leaking. At the time was able to get a ne...

Re: Cyclops LED on '16 or newer R1200RT or R1250RT

I am trying to install the Cyclops LED, there is + and - on the Cyclops plug, wondering which connection on the bike plug is positive. One connector has 2 wires the other 1 wire. I have everything on the bulb undone but the bulb is refusing to come out, almost like glued in place Figured it out, ver...

Re: Post-2014 lights

I was not happy with my 2018 low beam until I found it set in the wrong position. There is a lever under the nose that adjusts headlight 3 positions depending on solo, luggage, etc. It's in the manual

Re: R1200RTW Fork Seal Replacement

If there are any bronze bushings as well as seals replace the bushings as they wear and seals will not last long, I found that out rebuilding K1100 forks, twice. Looked on realoem.com, part number 5 look like the bushing the stantion runs on, if they are worn there will be pressure on one side of se...

Re: Blueing

The harder faster you push the bike the further down the pipes the blueing will travel. It's not a bad thing.

Re: Corbin Seat w/ Smuggler set up for a 2009 R1200RT - screw up!

Corbin is the only seat builder that glues the leather or vinyl cover down to the foam, if you try to recover modify may result in quite a mess

Re: Corbin Seat w/ Smuggler set up for a 2009 R1200RT - screw up!

Before modifying the seat you should put in some hours on it, see if you find it comfortable, you might be surprised, I have had them on last 3 bikes, find soft seats OK for short rides but soft incredibly uncomfortable for long rides.

Re: This just doesn't seem right

bikes with slipper clutches act this way a certain amount, my son's Yamaha R1 would shake the whole bike going into first standing still, my K1600GTL not quite as bad. I have not been able to drive my new 2018 RT yet to see what it is like.
