Hi Bobby
I live almost at sea level, in north Devon.
My highest hills are about 1000 foot above sea level.

Replacement bolt enquiry
Please can anyone advise where I can get a replacement bolt. It fits the heat shield on the exhaust silencer.

Thanks

Re: Are tomtom mounts interchangeable?
RiDE magazine ran a comparison test between TomTom and Garmin sat navs. They concluded that Tom Tom is the better sat nav.
I bought the Rider 550 sat nav, and it fits neatly into the sat nav location.

Re: Rear Brake Caliper Seal Orientation R1250RT
Ummm... How do I check brake pedal free play?
There is some movement in the rear brake pedal, when depressed, before the pistons start to move. How much movement do I need?
Thanks

Re: Rear Brake Caliper Seal Orientation R1250RT
Hi All Many thanks for the help and advice. As I suspected, the piston seals do not have a taper, so can be fitted either way round. Exportman noted that the pad opposite the pistons tends to wear more quickly, if the caliper does not slide freely on the pins. All three sets of my pads have worn exc...

Re: Rear Brake Caliper Seal Orientation R1250RT
Hi David The rear brake is still binding on the disc. Hence the enquiry regarding caliper seal orientation. I will remove the brake pistons and check to see if there is a raised edge on the caliper side of the seal, not the pad side. Frustratingly, I have complained to my dealer about this problem, ...

Rear Brake Caliper Seal Orientation R1250RT
My 2019 R 1250RT has had a sticking rear brake from new. My dealer could not find anything wrong with the brake, despite the fact that it had worn out two sets of rear pads in 6000 miles, and the rear disc was hot even when I had not applied any rear brake. The rear disc has worn below the minimum t...

Re: Bike sometimes not starting
Hello knowledgeable experts. Last February after a 50 mile run to Taunton Dene Services, the starter on my bike would not turn the engine over past top dead centre. It was if the battery did not have enough power to get past compression. After waiting 2 hours for BMW rescue to arrive, I tried starti...

R1250 RT 2019, workshop manual enquiry
Hi all
Now that the 3 year warranty has expired on my R1250RT, I would like to avoid extortionate dealer servicing charges.
Please advise if there is a workshop manual available for this model.
Many thanks.

Booster Plug removal for cold weather?
I have fitted a Booster Plug to my R1250 RT (2019model). To be honest, I have not noticed much improvement in driveability. Now we are getting to the cooler months, I notice that on starting, the exhaust smells much richer than normal. Should I remove the Booster Plug during the colder months? Thanks.

Re: 2018 1200 RT mirror case replacement
Hi
I replaced my mirror cover and mirror on my RT 1250. The clips fit on the back of the mirror housing, and are already in situ.
So you only need the cover, which fits over the clips.

Paint Code for Arctic White
Hi all
Can anyone advise the paint code for "Arctic White"?
I was blown off the bike whilst stationary, on the top of a mountain viewpoint, by a massive wind gust. Pannier lid is scratched.

R1250 RT Coolant Expansion Tank breather enquiry
Hi fellow RT owners I noticed that the coolant expansion tank on my 2019 RT1250 does not have a breather pipe attached to the top of the tank. (see attached photo). [attachimg=1] Should it have a breather pipe? If so, how should it be routed? I've had the bike from new, and it has been dealer servi...
