Carrying extra fuel
Anyone able to recommend a solution to carrying extra fuel for a planned trip to somewhere wild later this year. '16 1200RT. 10L would be good, maybe even more. Is it just strap a can to the passenger seat or are there better solutions out there? Is there a jerry can that fits nicely in a pannier? O...

Re: Coronavirus
Still going out because I need the 'drug'. But I use apps for Esso and BP to pay at the pump, so I don't come into contact with anyone. I have a heart condition so do need to be a bit careful of catching it. But I can't face solitary confinement for months on end. The French are now under threat of ...

Re: New Bike Shopping
I'm also torn between K or R when I replace this Summer. Leaving aside the comments already around reliability, happy wives, etc, can anyone tell me how different the ergonomics are at all? Is there any more legroom or more upright bars? I know I can specify a bagger thingy and get forward footrests...

Re: Shopping for an RT in France
You may find it easier to source one in Germany or UK and move it to France. Depends how bothered you are about where the bike is registered or the hassle of re-registering. In my experience, there is much greater choice of used stock in those two countries.

Re: Hello from Bordeaux, France
Hi I was in Bordeaux on Sunday night heading back to the UK from Cadiz. Though I wouldn't recommend the Premiere Classe in Pessac Bersol to anyone. Not even my dog! I'm also 51 (today!) and a father of 4! I would love a trip back to see the real nice bits of the area some time. I am also very tempte...

Re: Tire pressure monitors - Accuracy
One of the best bike inventions ever. Potentially saved my life last year. Was in the fast lane on a dual carriageway on my last bike (a Triumph). Overtaking a car at a slightly silly speed. Suddenly the TFT screen started flashing red and white. Tyre pressure gone. Point is, I didn't feel anything ...

Re: Annoying things about the R1200/1250RT LC - what are yours?
With all due respect you, that is perhaps the entire point. The RT is a not an Econo-bike but a premium bike, at a premium price, from a respected German marque which prides itself on being as close to perfection as possible. I can totally understand that point of view for many owners, pa...

Re: Annoying things about the R1200/1250RT LC - what are yours?
You must be joking! I've spent years on £1,000 bikes, strapped together with cable ties and gaffer tape. If I find a gripe with this bike, I know I've become too comfortable in old age!
